Probably this is old news or there are workarounds for this somewhere already, but if you own a Kindle Fire or an Android Tablet and like to download fic directly onto your Kindle/Android device from the website, this might help

I tried and it tells me it's moved it, but on my Kindle Fire it doesn't show up and when I click on the link in the notification screen it says cannot open file. I guess I'm back to opening PDFs in docstogo and emailing them to my kindle with the convert request unless there's something I'm missing here...

It works! Today all my downloaded fic showed up in docs (where I wanted them) and I tried a new test one and it went right in! Magic! Thank you so much! This was one thing that truly bugged me about the fire, and now you've made it easy!
I resolved that idiotic problem Kindle Fire has with non-Amazon materials by downloading Overdrive. Now I just download AO3 fics in epub format and I don't have to mess with them at all afterwards.
Reading on my phone.so.i.didn't read all.of that with the screenshots, but on my Mac with my kindle I temporarily change the browser download folder to be the kindle, and then just click download and it does the right thing, if that's useful to anyone.
