Oh my GOD. The fic itself is beyond fantastic, but the commentary just adds a whole nother level.

It's not like a dvd commentary, but more like an extended release. Ok, off to read part 2!

I can't explain why, but I think these DVD commentaries are like my secretest addiction. Honestly, reading notes through a fanfic is just fun & you do it so well. I'll read pt.2 later, I need to go help figure things out for a rained out 4th of July, b/c I think I'm the only one willing to admit that barbequeing & watching fireworks in the rain sucks. But I have a feeling the second bit will be just as interesting as this one is.

John said: I'm sorry. Christ, I'm sorry. Breathe. Please breathe. I'm so sorry. Breathe. It'll be okay. Everything will be okay. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'd kill him again if I could. It'll be okay. I'll take care of you. I'll take care of everything. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

I can't even tell you how hard I am dying with love. Oh man, thank you.

that can only end in tears and acid reflux

Probably my favorite single phrase from the story.

Open up the hood. You need something hotter than--" Rodney's mind shies again. Cremation temperatures aren't easy to get outside an oven, but-- "I can make it--"

So did you actually research what Rodney did? Or was it just his Rodney-fu?

Both. I don't know specifically how it's done, but according to the nice engineers my sister brings home, in theory? It's possible. Though to me, it seems sketchy since to get bone to burn, you need serious, serious temperatures. However, when written, it was pretty much Rodney-fu. Since I couldn't do it, i consider it Fu.

Fu covers a lot of sins of omission, really.
