I still contend the best Pride and Prejudice is the 1995 version, and current watching only confirms this, but--it's actually not all Colin Firth. It' not even mostly Colin Firth, though IMHO no Darcy has matched him.

I love the BBC version of P&P but my husband loves the movie version better, I think, because it moves along faster. There's no lingering there. I did like the dirt and griminess of the places better in the movie but yes, Jennifer was perfect in that version.
