Gosh this is awesome! Sad but awesome. And I do believe there is a strong determination in Lizzie. It's just sad Ciel can't preserve her happiness and innocence like he wanted her to =(
It strikes me that towards the end of the anime, Ciel became more and more selfish. Their final waltz together didn't seem genuine to me, it was more like Ciel was humouring her and I'm pretty sure Elizabeth was holding back from pointing out the obvious.
I'd like to think as she matures she'll be as fierce as her mother and aunt.
But even so, I do think even if his intentions weren't 'true'. I do think it's quite an honour and it somehow made Lizzy a little happier that he gave her 'the last dance' before he 'died'.. I mean rather than just shrugging her off..
Well now we know why episode 2 exists. That was the genuine human Ciel that truly cared for her.
I guess at the end Ciel was really whatever because he was prepared to die and he no longer has any goal in life. So I guess he find that he HIMSELF and the find the whole situation pretty amusing. I'm sure.. he's ACTUALLY really upset. But knowing his quote "Something that is lost, will never be returned..." so he finds all these emotions 'unnecessary and pointless'..
