Title: When Rivers are Mailboxes

Warnings: N/A
There’s a river between Minho and Kibum.
Every Friday, Minho drops a bottle with a letter inside into the water and every Monday, Kibum searches. Minho's letters are short, as if he writes several drafts and carefully edits before sending the final. On Mondays, Kibum also leaves trinkets in the river: a headband, a rubber ducky, whatever crosses his mind. He walks out every morning after, though he knows Minho only comes on Fridays.
Today is Monday; Kibum holds a bottle in one hand, a letter in the other.
To Minho.
It’s the shortest letter Kibum has ever written, penned with a touch of flourish and a lot of authenticity.
There’re four words in the body of the letter and they could be anything: I didn't mean it, I am lonely today, I love you too, but they're not.
It ends like this is all and in a moment, the letter’s in a bottle floating in the river.
Come Friday, Minho will find the bottle, read the message, and maybe he’ll cry, maybe he’ll laugh, maybe he'll even get up and run.
It’s a story and maybe it’ll end sad, maybe it’ll end happy, maybe it won’t end at all.
