They tell each other ghost stories in Hong Kong, late that night when the concert's over and they're still too wound up to fall asleep. Lights glitter in through the windows of their suite, cast shadows across Youngbae's face while he talks about nine-tailed foxes luring unsuspecting men into their traps to be eaten.
"Liver's tasty," Seunghyun points out after he's done, as Seungri mumbles something half-hearted about how that wasn't frightening at all. "I don't blame them."
Youngbae rolls his eyes. "You tell one, then."
Daesung snorts. "He can't. He only knows jokes."
"That's not even remotely true," Seunghyun protests. He cocks his head to the side, deep in thought. "Okay, I got one."
They all lean in.
"There once was a girl," he starts, voice pitched low, "with hair as long as the tower she lived in was high. Her name was Rapunzel."
"Come on, that's a fairy tale," Daesung interrupts, laughing. "Not a scary story."
"Isn't it?" Seunghyun says mildly. He meets Jiyong's shrewd gaze head on. "The idea of spending your entire life trapped like a bird in a cage, with just a pretty voice and pretty hair to get you by-that doesn't scare you?"
