It takes only half an hour of sitting in the hotel room for the arguments to start. Jinki forgot to pack a razor, or something. Jinki isn't really sure. Jonghyun gesticulates wildly as he yells, his biceps straining as he flings his arms out and around him. Jinki recalls finding Jonghyun's animated reactions attractive, once. Now, they give Jinki a migraine.
“This trip was supposed to make things better,” Jinki says. He rubs his forehead with the balls of his palms.
Jonghyun releases a sigh so complete that his whole body deflates. His shoulders cave in and he looks so small in that moment that the floor lamp seems to tower over him.
“We should explore London separately, today,” Jonghyun whispers.
Jinki, alone, takes a bus North to Camden to see the Freud Museum. He glances through Freud's collection of strange antiques and thinks about dreams, thinks about a dream he had of Jonghyun dancing in a tar pit. He wonders if Freud would say that their relationship is dying, soon-to-be-fossilized, or that they're just becoming stagnant. He wonders: if he and Jonghyun accidentally met on the street today, would they'd look down and pretend to be strangers?
