ZOMG! I totally failed to get that super-subtle hint because it was doing such a great job in being super-subtle!

"Flashed threw", in this context, means "went through quickly" or "thought of quickly". So the question of "What's the Power Up Club?" was quickly thought of and then discarded by those guys. ^^
