I think the world craves heroes like butter on popcorn. I believe that heroes do exist - and one certainly does in Japan right now during the worst of times for them.

You might have heard about Akaiwa Hideaki. You might not have. For those who haven't, please click on the following link for his story:

Not only a badass and a hero, but a man devoted to his wife:

Akaiwa found his wife on Saturday and a visitor remarked the reunion must have been an emotional one.

“She is very important for me,” Akaiwa said, advising an interpreter he wasn’t interested in answering more questions on the matter.

I just have no words for the type of person he is other than HEART OF GOLD. His wife is a very lucky woman.

This is what I was seeing in the faces of the people in the video you posted. Determination. Gumption. Love. Hope. All the things they hoped to communicate through their song and words. And they did, even though I don't know a shred of Japanese.

I have heard of so many stories that share that the Japanese people are finding themselves again (as one person put it). The caring and beauty in humanity is blossoming as nothing else can in that terribly torn place.

And yes, what a love story for him to go after his wife! 'Ain't no mountain..." I don't think there aren't words to adequately describe that except the facts of what he did. Just WOW.

You're welcome! I'm so glad that it actually happened so that it could be shared~ <3

What you listed is exactly what I thought as well. Determination, gumption, love, hope all wrapped up in a people pulling together as individuals to form a whole.

This guy...When I read that one sentence he allowed to describe his wife...It just made me tear up. I agree, just WOW.
