Jim protecting Blair

I don't remember most of the details, but I remember Jim/Enqueri appearing in a bad guys cell at the end of the story....something about payback for attacking the guide. The person had hurt Blair somehow. Sorry about the vague description but you are all amazing and hopefully you can figure out what I am talking about. Not sure if it is general or

I thought it might be Alyjude's Healer Trilogy, but I think it's not. I think the guy gets shot in the end.

There's a hint of that in one of the GDP stories. I think it might be the end of "Living with the past."
