Best of luck to your mom, I hope things go well tomorrow!

I'll self-rec my longest fic, Sentinel Island.

This isn't as long, but it's still amazing: Kaleidoscope by TW Lewis.

A favourite long story is Distant Journey, Unknown Lands by Martha and Lemon Drop. Slash. Post-series

I also recently reread Control Issues by Lit Gal, and enjoyed myself a lot. Slash. Sentinels and Guides are known AU.

I am late to your entry and so I do hope that things are much calmer for you and that your mom is doing well. But I came here specifically tell mention Distant Journey, Unknown Lands and find that it is already recommended by mab! So yay!

Also, my all-time favorite, though not a long one, is Fear of Flying by Lark. That one makes me happy every single time I read it.

May all be well in your family.

My apologies. It is by Lanning, not Lark.

For long gen fic, I really enjoy Dasha, particularly her Imperfections series. You can read for days on this series and it's a lot of fun. Her site is here.

Another possibility is Jael Lyn. Great case fic but I think my favorite is Think Outside the Box because it shows just how smart Blair is. But really all her stories are great.

I hope your mom's surgery goes well tomorrow.

I totally agree about Dasha. Her Ordinary Magic series is great as well. She's also written some lovely long slash stories. Her No Big Deal series in three parts follows the show but through Jim's POV. It's one of the few things I will re-read. Here's her Sentinel stuff at AO3

Bone's Territorial Imperative series was some of the first slash I read in the fandom and I really enjoyed them. Starts off with the guys doing it on a stakeout and it alternates Jim and Blair's POVs. Out of Whack is funny, long and porny and Ceiling Unlimited in the Standalone section is just sweet.

I wish I could give you and your mom more than just a virtual hug. Take care.

If you like kidfic, Alyjude's Everything's Jake series is huge at 381K words and 18 stories. After Blair becomes a cop he makes friends with a neighbor's grandson and circumstances are such that he ends up being the boy's guardian.

She also wrote the Shakespeare series, which is an SG1 slash crossover.

Ditto Double from above!! I have recently read Jake, but never the Shakespeare. That sounds interesting!
