Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are separated by years ie in the same place at different times and find they can communicate via the mail box outside the beautiful Lake House that his architect father designed. She is in his future but lived in the Lake House briefly at one point. He and his brother are architects, too. She's a doctor. She is upset by seeing a young man die in an accident (hit by a bus) where she and her mother are having lunch. Anyway, it's a bit convoluted but it turns out that was him, racing to meet her in her timeline and she realizes just in time in his timeline to write him to tell him NOT to find her in the city but to wait for her at the Lake House ( ... )

Thanks.

I find that when critics praise something my general feeling is 'what's wrong with it?' and when they pan something it's usualy something I find appealing on every level...

But I can't think of any TS story remotely similar to this...

Thanks for the summary caarianna! Another fandom I read in has a story based on the movie, so I was hoping TS has one as well.

I haven't seen "the lake house" but Caarianna's summary made me think of "Frequency" by Lyn (gen). It has a present day Blair finding a unique way of communicating with a Jim from his past and influencing events/changing history. It might give you a similar vibe.

Thanks. I have read "Frequency". Also based on a movie.
