Blairs long hair

Looking for a specific story where Blair wears his long hair in a braid with either metal or leather rings around the braid which denotes his status as a guide. I found a post with recs for Blairs long hair but this story was not included. Thanks

I'm not sure which specific story you mean but this is this most memorable ( for me) hair in a braid story.

The part I can remember is Jim going to Blairs Office(?) maybe. Blair is at his desk and Jim notices the bands around his braid and realizes that he is a higher rated guide than Jim's fathers guide. Jim may have been sent to see Blair by Simon as he is an expert on Sentinels and Jim is having trouble with his senses.
