Hi all.

I just read a fic and in it, Blair's full name was mentioned. Not that that is something new and I don't really know why the question would come to me only now, but it got me wondering if Blair has his middle name (Jacob) from his father?
Is there a story out there like this?

middle name started by an author, but that was liked so much, many authors picked it up (like me *g*). In the show, his middle name was never mentioned, only Jim's. :)

because Blair himself doesn't know the identity of his father, so neither do we.

There are a fair few stories dealing with Blair discovering his father but so far as I recall, no-one has written one where he was named Jacob. But I'd be delighted to be proved wrong. :-)

there's one about the vietnam war memorial, jim sees naomi put a photo of blair in his police uniform on the wall while looking at a miniature in her locket. i don't remember the full name, but the middle name was jacob. i just reread this and of course now can't find it

All we know for sure is that his middle initial is 'J'. 'Jacob' took off and is widely used but I don't really like the name, so I've used 'Joseph'. So far as I know there's been no story suggesting Naomi named him after his father, either with first or middle name.

Where do we find out that his middle initial is J? I don't recall it.

I think it's on his PD pass card. It's on the mock up I have and I think they were made to be as close as possible to the one used on tv. I'll have to check another prop I have that might also show the initial. I'm not home right now so will try to remember to check it out when I get there. But the observer's pass card is in my purse. ::grins;: I don't leave home without it. ;)

::snorts:: Prop canon? We know how reliable *that* is! ^_^ Well, I don't feel too badly not knowing that. I'm not sure we ever get a good glance at his PD credentials. BTW, in your purse? You are a true fanatic.

I've heard other names, but Jacob has been picked up by a lot of writers and I confess to liking it. A nod to his heritage, which often gets totally ignored; especially in Christmas fic.

I have read several where Blair found out that Jacob was the name of Naomi's father. Unfortunately, I can't recall the names of the story ( ... )

The first one was a SVS story, Regrets by VampyrAlex, but I just tried to access the page and got a 404 message.

Now that's interesting.

I used http://www.squidge.org/5senses/ to get to the home page because I wasn't sure which number story it was, and got the 404. Using your (apparently identical) link and deleting the 'ep07' I got onto the home page; but putting in my link and adding the 'ep07' still gave me the 404 error.
