It would make things clearer if you included a link to the part you've already read, since I found the story posted as a whole here and on the author's site here, and parts one and two (of the apparent four) @ 852 Prospect (scroll down to the bottom). The prequel, "The Drilling Rig", is up on all of these sites as well, from what I could tell.
