H/c Bonding AUs

Mar 08, 2010 23:33

I'm trying to track down as many as I can of those hurty-comforty Bonding AUs that appear to have been all the rage a few years back.  (I'm working on a fic that I hope will ring some changes on the trope, so I want to get as complete a picture of what's already been done as possible.)  I'm finding lots of tags that get me some fics that use this ( Read more... )

You might like Ysone' stuff.

This is in the old west and Blair is a half breed; it's in two parts.

The story "Twice Again" is about Jim not wanted to bond and getting Blair to help him because he is marked unbondable. Blair is very much shunned in this story.

Check out her other stories, he or she is very good.

Awesome! The first one looks vaguely familiar--I think I saw it listed or rec'd somewhere before, but I haven't read it. The second one is totally new to me, and fits perfectly with the trope.

I think you'll really like "Twice Again" a lot. It does seem to fit all that you asked for, plus happy ending.

The first story I recced doesn't really have the bonding part, but Blair deals with a lot of prejudice because he is a half breed and Jim is reluctant to work with Blair but seems to need him.

"The Awakening" by Keiramarcos has every element and then some. Blair and Jim become garystus who can do no wrong, while everyone else either worships the ground they walk upon or hate them for their perfectness. It's the epitome of bonding!badfic, complete with soul-bonding through anal sex, and yet it's strangely compelling.

She's also got a Sentinel/Atlantis crossover wip, if you're into that sort of thing.

Awe-some! Yes, I'm finding this genre both disturbing and compelling at the same time.

I couldn't make it through this series, and I'm glad to see not everyone loved it. I started reading because of a rec, here I think, and thought maybe I was missing something because I didn't love it or even like it!
