I'm looking for an older fic that I don't remember much about. It was probably slash, because that's almost all I read, but I can't remember the exact pairing. I do know it heavily featured Simon's extended family, who were all a little psychic. Simon's father (or possibly grandfather) had been part of some project with the millitary using psycics

The overall idea of what you wrote sounds like the plot of one of the stories in Yvonne McCool's Upgrades universe - it's set in the future and they find out that Simon is the direct descendent someone who'd been experimented on generations ago and his body was still in the Pentagon so they go to retrieve it. This leads to Simon discovering more of his relatives and finding that many have strong psychic powers. Daryl is a very strong psychic as well.

ETA: This is one of her few gen stories - everything else she writes is slash so maybe you read it?

Maybe, but I don't think it was set in te fure, at least not in the far future

Okay, just thought I'd throw it out there because you mentioned not remembering much of the story and the plot you described sounded almost exactly like McCool's story with just a few differences.

it is the cheyenne series by ym mccool...towards the end......it is a great read...
