I know the rules say three stories in total, two from one, one from the other. However

The rule isn't no more than three stories, it's no more than three projects. A project can consist of several stories so from that point of view there's no problem. You just include both stories as one project.

It's the "final submissions are final" rule that's the problem because we already have yours, don't we? It's so early I am okay with bending that one but I need to be clear to anyone else reading this that it's only because we are still months away from the deadline.

Is that okay?
