Good morning!

Name: Katef
Project: Title: 'Imagine That' - AU standalone slash sequel to my story 'Picture This'. Blair is undercover again, and in trouble not just from the bad guys, but from an unknown enemy within the PD. Jim to the rescue - he hopes!

Progress: First draft complete at around 41,000 words. It's now being betaed (Thanks Annie!) so hopefully can be submitted fairly soon unless major re-write necessary!

Happy writing everyone
Kate x

Your project: Sentinel/NCIS crossover that still doesn't have a title
Tell us a little about your progress: I got a lot done this month and I'm currently at about 21,000 words. Still have a ways to go. First third is finished. The second third has the two groups working at opposite ends of the country and I'm writing the Jim and Blair side of it right now. That's the focus of the second third and just little scenes of what's happening on the East Coast will get slipped in between those scenes. Plot-wise, I'm about half way done. Number-wise, I'm not sure, I've never been good at guessing how long a scene will become when it's typed out..
Anything else you want to say My beta is loving what I've got so far, calls it her guilty pleasure because she's always re-reading it, but I would like someone from this fandom to read it pretty soon. It's been a while since I've written Sentinel fic, and although it's an AU (Sentinels and known universe), I want to make sure it still flows from the Sentinel perspective. Normally ( ... )

A guilty pleasure? Sounds great :)

I hope someone who reads the checkpoint will volunteer to be a reader for you. I'll see if I can help if you don't get any offers soon.

Thanks, I'm not overly worried yet, but by next month I'll be wanting someone to read it for sure.

I'd be thrilled to read it, Emerald. I'm very involved in both fandoms.

Your project: Sentinel/Flashpoint Crossover, still untitled.
Tell us a little about your progress (your word count if you want, or just generally how it's going): I'm over 17,000 words. Not sure of the exact count right now, because I'm working between three documents. (Don't ask!) Once I join it all together, I'll know for sure what my word count is. The story is about a subterfuge that Jim and Simon perpetrate on Blair and how things go wrong as usual with the boys. Can you say "Blair is a trouble magnet?" LOL!!!
Anything else you want to say (e.g. Do you need any help? Lacking inspiration or need a sounding board? Want to rant a little?): Does anyone know if it was ever stated in canon what religion Jim is, or what religion Jim was raised in? I can't recall and wouldn't even begin to know where to look to find. Frankly, I don't have time to re-watch every episode to see if it's mentioned somewhere. Thanks! Back to writing!

I don't recall any mention of religion in relation to Jim, except the Chopec sprituality. Can't say 100% for sure, but I certainly don't remember anything.

We could really use a Sentinel wiki for all those nagging questions, couldn't we?

You're making great progress with your fic! Well done.

I couldn't recall anything off-hand, other than the Chopec, too. But it was certainly possible that I had forgotten a mention or missed a mention completely. Oh yes! A Sentinel wiki would be super. I appreciate you taking the time to answer, briarwood. Thanks so much! Thank you. I'm working hard, but having fun. :-)

There's prop canon in Remembrance that he and Carolyn were married in the church of Our Lady of Perpetual Sorrows, but of course that could have been Carolyn's church, not his. In Vow of Silence he clearly has no idea of how to behave in a situation where grace is said, which argues that it was Carolyn's church and that he wasn't brought up with any idea of what might be called religious observance.

I've always assumed that Jim was reared in a house where there was no religious background..

Tell us a little about your progress (your word count if you want, or just generally how it's going): A little over 26,000 words, it's finished and gone for beta
Anything else you want to say (e.g. Do you need any help? Lacking inspiration or need a sounding board? Want to rant a little?): I still don't have a title. There's scope for a sequel... If I get inspiration I might try to get a sequel finished for this Big Bang - I have till September to sign up for another story, right?

Gone for beta already? It's so great to see so many of our writers doing so well!

Yes, signups for writers remain open until September 1st. You can change your signup at any time to include a second project.

Heaps of time for a sequel. Go for it! Well done on finishing already:)

It hit a natural break, or it would have continued with what I'm thinking about as a sequel..

Incidentally, thanks for the kudos on Safe Harbor. I'd say it's my favourite of my own stories.

Your project: Project title: Struggles Overcome (thanks, Patt!)
Tell us a little about your progress: The Sentinel/Person of Interest slash crossover. Still not caught up word count wise but doing okay. I've gotten Jim to New York and he's met up with Finch and he's about to confront Blair for the first time in about 10 years so there's definite progress.
Anything else you want to say (e.g. Do you need any help? Lacking inspiration or need a sounding board? Want to rant a little?): The annoying part is that I know exactly where this plot is going and have it pretty much storyboarded in my head. it's just getting the time to write when stuff keeps happening in RL that's a problem. I may need a beta so I'll go post for one. I think there's a good chance Lyn may not have time to do it.

Oh, this is SOOOOO. exciting! I adore POI and this sounds like a fantastic plot!
I feel your pain about the planned stuff in your head and not having the chance to write it down. Story of my life!
