WHAT
IS MY WHOLE LIFE A LIE D:
Also, when I started watching Supernatural, at first I liked Sam more; then a few episodes went by and I began to firmly prefer Dean. My two sisters who actually enjoy the show (and who have seen... more than a season and a half of it) claim that this was their precise reaction, too. THAT'S JUST HOW IT GOES.

I KNOW, RIGHT? Why did they not tell us!
That is very interesting! Perhaps Sam is just the more appealing character in concept (clever, nerdy, kind, personable), but Dean turns out to be better in execution, at least in TVland?

I think it might be that the first character whose POV you get is Sam, and he's got his own life and he's gonna be a lawyer (or whatever he was studying for i forget)! and then his kind of assholey older brother comes in all I WANT TO RUIN YOUR LIFE COME BACK TO LIVE ON THE ROAD LIKE A BUM WITH ME ON A MYSTERIOUS MISSION THAT IS NOT GOING TO LEAD TO LAWYERTIMES OR GIRLFRIENDTIMES OR ANY TIMES THAT EXIST INSIDE AN ACTUAL DWELLING PLACE
and then you watch more of it and, yeah, sucks for Sam! But Dean's been on the road with his dad THIS WHOLE TIME and working so hard at killin' all these monsters and doing his best and Sam keeps complaining and Dean is funnier and less funny-looking, so you swing towards liking him more! And it never really swings back towards Sam.

The longer I watch, the more of a Dean girl I am. *headdesk* I SHOULD IDENTIFY WITH SAM. WE HAVE A LOT IN COMMON. Possibly this is why I like Dean better, actually, now I come to think of it. *laughs*
