Ah - yes! This one is a response-in-the-making to the wee bits of canon we have about the Doctor and Queen Elizabeth I. (Not Elizabeth X, although she admittedly would also make an epic companion.) Specifically, I take issue to the implication that he married her, had sex with her, and left her behind. (Mostly because I hold to a strict Doctor-as-asexual interpretation of canon ( ... )

Holidays in Atlantis, please

This one is supposed to be the story of the first few years on Atlantis told through largely self-contained stories about the holidays they celebrate, starting with McKay and Shepherd accidentally sparking a rather fierce argument over whether to use the American or Canadian dates for Thanksgiving. The idea is that it would eventually culminate in their making up new holidays, because they've got Athosians and a Satedan and Terrans of all nationalities, and none of the holidays they used to celebrate really fit any more. It was/is going to be a (hopefully uncheesy) "We are all Atlanteans, first and last!" kind of fic. But I got bogged down trying to deal with ChristmaHannuKawanzaDon.
