Thank God, I think as I park the car.

Among making sure to keep the victims conscious until medical help arrived, ensuring that none of the bystanders approached the scene, keeping an eye on the van driver who led to the accident (drunk driving... don't they ever learn???), giving statements to the local police officers arriving at the scene along with the paramedics... The trip that was supposed to have taken 30 minutes... well, took a lot longer than that.

I just hope the parents and the child will be okay...I'm slowly heading towards the building, when something unusual catches my eye. A bright, orange glow coming from the area which I assume is the park... a sharp contrast to the mass of darkness that surrounds the glow

The pain is refusing to let me fully awake, no matter how hard I struggle. The voices only grow louder, nearly drowning everything else. Yet, somehow, I can still hear their voices. Far away, barely there... but there. And amidst the pain, I can vaguely sense their Geki, trying to reach me somehow.

Once again, I try to wake up.

He needed you. A new wave of pain hits me. The pain is massive; the previous waves feel like they were only child's play compared to this one

The wolf drops to the ground, eyes glazing over with pain. It's not dead. It was shot very precisely in the shoulder, to wound, not to kill.

I spin, half-suspecting who I'll see... "Sen-chan!"

I know I'm muddy and bruised, but I also know he won't mind. He lowers his pistol. I throw my arms around him. He gives me one of his trademark smiles, lighting up his whole face. "Sen-chan," I tell him happily. "I'm glad you're here."

The wolf snarls again. I turn. It clambers gingerly to its feet, looks around, then takes off at high speed, just past Ken.

Ken yells. I think he's surprised that he didn't get hurt again. He's flat on his back, but does a little flip to get back onto his feet. "Come on, everyone!" he shouts, then races off after the wolf.

I'm thrown to the ground as Gou runs off, even after being shot. "Ow," I mumble, having landed on my shoulder after he ran away and rubbing it. Nonetheless, I start running after the wolf.

I fall backwards, loosing my grip on Gou, I try to get up but my right hand won't cooperate. I look down and my fingers have gone black, I thought it was the mud for a second but then I realize its far darker than the brown sludge on the ground.

Then it starts hurting, the same darkness that had been crawling up my arm spreads, burning.

I try to reach for my Geki and push it back but I can't focus, it crawls up my neck trapping my vocal cords then through my spine, paralyzing me. In my chest and head it wells up like its trying to crush my organs.

I can't scream

I can't move

Holding me in terror a thought that isn't my own crosses my head

"Who are you?"

"Keep to yourself brat, or next time I won't let you go so easily"

Before I could response a thought the pain intensifies, everything grows dim.

I thought everyone was going to help but I spot the boy in blue on the ground looking fearfully at his hand. It's blackened by what looks like mud but it's quickly spreading. I hear him let out a strangled cry.

As quick as I can I turn my chair to go to him. When I reach him he's lying motionless. I fling myself down and out of the chair to his side, ignoring the shock of pain from jostling my body.

With my free hand I shake him as hard as I can, I shout and plead with him to pull together. but he doesn't respond. I sit down, legs sprawled out, free arm supporting me. Might as well keep an eye on him.

"Sen-chan." I begin to explain. Sen watches me intently, and I can practically see him put everything together in his mind. I'm so, so relieved he's here. He might come up with the one insight that will allow us to beat this. Allow us to get Gou back

I see Jasmine flinch as she touches Renn, but she goes on. Soon after he starts breathing again.

She reaches her out in my direction "Can you please take my hand? I need help to not get lost inside his mind. But it could be strange for you."

"Okay," I reply, "I got you." I take her hand, feeling a little light headed at first but then gradually stabilizing. It's an odd feeling, sort of like looking out onto a landscape from far away. It's fascinating but somewhat scary.

Suddenly I feel a pull at my conciscenceness. Something's trying to pull Jasmine further in, taking me along with her. I focus on taking a better hold and keeping her steady. ~Jasmine, are you alright?~
