[Fanart post]

Ok, so lately I've been looking around for pretty fanart and I came upon this artist named Lily who draws a lot of Akatsuki art. Her stuff is AMAZING, so I thought I'd share. Chances are, if you've gone around looking for Akatsuki pairings, you've probably stumbled upon her work before.

She does A LOT of Itachi pics and I'm completely head over ( Read more... )

(you could alter Konan's hair to make it blue in photoshop, just saying. xD)

She's really amazing, I agree. LOVE her painting, and her linework is very delicate and fierce-looking, imo. She really gets at the wrongness and hotness of Akatsuki at once. They all look half-malnourished and bright-eyed with fever, and yet ajdkjakfjskjfsdkfjsd HOT. xD

HAHA, I've been trying to make her hair blue on photoshop actually but it doesn't look as nice as the original so I stopped.

That's the perfect way to describe it! I've been searching around crazily for her stuff the past two days and saving it all to my hard drive. It's really some of the best fanart I've seen in a long time.

Yeah... I guess unless you did it through hue/saturation, it would look weird. And her skintone would probably go sallow then too. You could just drop all the color then recolorize as a blue duotone, that might look nice.

She definitely knows what she's doing with digital painting. I kind of sekritly bought all those digital painting books in the hopes that I could paint like her someday. xDDD

ohhh does this mean you are an artist? I never knew!

And yeah...her digital painting skills are amazing. The shading is beautiful and subtle.

This is her official website: http://members3.jcom.home.ne.jp/c.lily/

However, there's not a lot of pics on it. She takes off and adds a new picture every few weeks so there are like entire groups of people who archive her artwork.

I know I know! Isn't it GORGEOUS?!?!

I'm completely obsessed right now, so obsessed I've even started reading Itachi fics because I suddenly found a new interest in his character. It's really amazing how pretty fanart can inspire the mind (or drive me insane, in my case)

Cheers for the comments on the 'fics on FFN, by the way. I woke up this morning and saw a handful of reviews and story favs. I didn't realize you'd reviewed Diem Ex Dei before. I take it you were one of the anonymous reviewers?

To answer your remark about SasoDei: I do ship it a bit, but in a very gen way. I can't really picture writing about them being intimate or sexual in the traditional sense (well, also, Sasori being a puppet and all . . . )

I can't say I'm very good at reviewing every fic I read but I do feel guilty when I don't review b/c as a writer, I'm a bit of a review whore myself. I like feedback for my work. So yeah...I try to review as much as I can, especially fics I like and have good things to say about.

No, I wasn't an anon reviewer. I used to have an ffnet account but abandoned it after I kept getting a really scary flamer sending me emails and lj comments insulting people on my flist and my story. I stopped email notifications on that account but still used it to review stories I liked. Ugly sides of fandom...

LOL on writing Sasori in a sexual way. I do find Sasori really intriguing, both psychologically and otherwise. If he didn't make his body into a puppet, I'd probably love writing about him and Sakura. There would be some really nice, kinky potential there^^ And of course, likewise fore SasoDei^^

I really did like that one-shot. It was really well written, like most of your works lol. I'll need to read the GaaNaru one when I have time.

Oh, I know which reviewer you were, now. Haha, small world. I remember getting those reviews, too, and being happy to see them.

Thanks for the compliments. To be honest, I didn't like the GaaNaru one much; I found it kind of bland. Of course, I didn't especially like the DeiSaso, either. Of my Naruto fics, the one I was most pleased with (personally) was the Naruto and Pein 'fic, and I was happiest with it because of the styling/set-up and the level of difficulty it entailed for me. I find that I'm proudest of the works which I found to be the hardest to write.

OMG you do? lol...how...

Eh? which Naruto and Pein one? Are you talking about DED and the genfic you wrote? Or Soterion? I do think my favourite is still DED. It`s just so well written I like to go back every once in a while and read it again. It always puts me in an indescribable state of thoughfulness/melancholy that good books/fics tend to put me under.
