Jim had been in the shower when Lana had called, or he would have pounced on the phone like a pouncing thing.

Instead, he was left growling and worried when he got her voicemail, and called her right back.

Jim was studying.

With his eyes closed.

He was sprawled across the bed on his back, his history notes on his chest, rising and falling in a regular rhythm. Hey, you can study by osmosis, right?

Jim sighed in relief as he stepped out of the shower, finally feeling human again. He had gotten a good night's sleep, Lana was feeling better, he actually had plans for Christmas . . .

It was a good day in the world of Jim.

Jim woke up slowly on Monday morning, a vague sort of disappointment washing over him at the fact that Monday meant Lana had to work and there was class and just life in general. He let out a sigh and nuzzled into Lana's hair. Not yet, anyways. There was still time for a cuddle and slow kisses and maybe . . . something else.
