This is the actual, the ACTUAL guidlines for the St.Patricks day parade in New York

GUIDELINES FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS IN THE
2012 ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE NYC

1. All units must have two (2) flags. Irish & American flags or no flags at all. NO EXCEPTIONS!! An American flag on the right and an Irish flag on the left.
2. A minimum of eight (8) abreast. Ten (10)

Where did you find this? I've never been to this one. Actually, I've only ever been to one St. Patrick's Day parade and that was here in Baltimore. People go kind of nuts over here about it which is kind of silly. I think in Chicago they still dye the river green.

I remember when we were kids it was the most awfull thing you could imagine. everyfloat was a comercial for security systems, mcdonalds or some crap like that. now its very artistic and is actually quite good until the place erupts in a drink fueled binge

Oh, I found that website earlier when I first read your entry but, it was so icky I never delved deep enough into it to see the guidelines. I hope it gets boycotted pretty heavily but, after all the crap to hit the news over here lately, I don't even know what to expect anymore.
