Yes! This, absolutely. *adds to memories* While I'm very much looking forward to the return of the Doctor in a more traditional form, I'm afraid that some of my friends who started with NuWho aren't going to like/recognize the Doctor now. This is an excellent meta to steer them towards.
Love the meta and found myself nodding along throughout! The by turns angry and angst ridden post Time War Doctor had his place but after s7 enough had to be called enough to prevent the show from stagnating and I was definitely in the camp of people entirely sick of nihilism. I like Moff's humanist take on The Doctor with Eleven and I love that things like love and hope and loyalty and kindness take on mythic grandeur in DOTD.
That quote about The Doctor's name as a promise was especially brilliant I thought.
