You know, listening to this speech again, I wonder...

When he says, "You think you're a god, but all you really are is a parasite" I wonder if he's talking to the "god" in front of him, or to himself? Maybe both? This was a great video, to bring that potential interpretation of the speech to the fore.

But yeah. It was a good speech, and Matt Smith did it well. Tennant will always be my Doctor, but I'll accept Eleven for now. Don't like him very much, but he is the Doctor now. With this speech, he finally matured into the role.

Almost definitely. The Old God was called Grandfather, for no very obvious reason except that they'd just made a point of reminding us that that's who the Doctor is.
