i went through a phase where i enjoyed playing with barbie's hair, but yeah, the breyer horses did a whole lot more for me.

I think mine are still in a box out in the garage. My favorite was Misty of Chincoteague.

What I always wanted was an electrically driven mini-gun that would mount on top of her pink corvette. And a pintle mounted flamethrower. And a Barbie Apache helicopter in ground-support/attack configuration. And an array of cutting-edge fashion flak bikinis.

But a dragon? Come on, Barbie wouldn't ever have one of those!

I expect a Barbie for each branch of the military to be appearing in the stores any day. With Special Forces and SEALS editions as well.

Of course, if she breaks a nail or gets her hair mussed, you have to cancel the war.
