More Thoughts on The Super 8 Ultraman Brothers! Movie

Mar 11, 2009 23:01

So I re-watched the new Ultraman movie because I just got a soft sub (thanks to yamatoforever for telling me that sub exists for the new Ultraman movie). Not a hundred percent certain, but I believe this soft sub comes from UltramanLah, courtesy of Psyke. I'm passing it along in case someone else is looking for sub (though everyone who needs sub probably has ( Read more... )

you're right. sometimes all ultraman series or heroes series are so prototype.
good guys against bad guys, hiding identity and so on.
yet they're still have the power to move us.
tiga is always be my fave in all ultraman series. love nagano & his acting in it ^^

Good guys against bad guys, clear cut white and black is refreshing after watching other things which blur the lines between good and bad. I like that I can cheer the heroes and curse the bad guys without doubting or feeling that well, maybe the good guy isn't all that good and the bad guy isn't all that bad. ^^; In any case, I think the hero series are so prototype because they are aimed at kids and it is more simple to tell kids single message: that the good guy is good and the bad guy is bad. Hopefully, they will learn differently (that real life is not so simple) when they grow up. For now, I think it's nice to let kids (and us) have dreams. :)

I guess Tiga would always have a special place in my heart because it's the series that re-introduce me to Ultraman again after I lost touch with Ultraman and hero series in general. And yes, I also love Nagano's acting in it.

And just out of curiosity, what other hero series do you watch?

the girls anime were so rare back then. i just love to watch them when i already a grown up
mecha : voltus v, daikumaryu, mazinga z
sports : super duck (about car race), dear boys (basket ball), baseball that based on adachi mitsuru's mangas
ultraman : tiga, dyna, gaia
super sentai : goggle v
metal heroes : gavan, sharivan, saider
other heroes : megaloman, lionmaru ==> those were heroes series that made little girl like me learnt that heroes couldn't survive in the end

and many more that i can't list one by one ^^

Oh, I actually mean live-action shows when I say hero shows, sorry.

baseball that based on adachi mitsuru's mangas

Touch, you mean? It's the only thing I can think of. Not that I'm very familiar with it other than it has twin boys and a girl who grew up together or something. And is this one anime or live-action? (I might be confusing this with another show, though.)

No Mebius on your list? ^^;

I still haven't seen much of metal heroes other than Gavan. Would want to see the other two when I have a chance to go look for them.

Never even seen Megaloman, nor Lionmaru, though I think I have some episodes lying around. But if the endings are as sad as you say, I kind of don't want to watch anymore. (I don't like sad ending...)

In any case, thanks for sharing part of your list. ^_^

i would love too!!!! sankyuu for offering.
hmm, my priority to DL now is :
1. v6 live tour 2008 vibes (has been subbed by newsfan, and i mean all! the songs & the talks. wow!)
2. nishikigoi (an old dorama starring sakamoto & nagano)
3. shonentai & 20th century : 5th night's (there're 2 songs by tonisen that i never heard before)
4. ultraman mebius!!! (finally i could see it. someone told me that this is the ultraman series which the main character / shunji has a very soft heart so he often cried)

You're welcome. Will send PM later.

Sounds like a nice list. :) (Just saw number 3 popped up on the f-list and I think I'm going to take that one, too. Also saw number 2, but that has to wait until I can clear off a lot of files on this computer. ^^;;) And yes, Mebius is the Ultraman series which the main character, Mirai (Shunji's character) is very soft-hearted. ^^; Though I don't remember him crying very often, he is certainly very kind and a little innocent. I think Mirai and Daigo would probably have gotten along well (they are rather similar, in my opinion), and I'm a bit disappointed that (their interaction) isn't shown much in this movie.

sankyuuu!!! have you watch tokyo friend park's dai kessen cast? i love it!!!!
nagano looks could deceive everyone as the younger one in the team!
i love to see how shunji really adored nagano in there. how he tried to cover nagano in the last game, like he wanted nagano's burden lessen. ^^

Ha ha, yes I have. My post talking about it is here. :)

Wow, I can't even remember much of what happened in that show anymore. Your comment reminds me that I want to re-watch it again. I really love Japanese game shows. A few I've seen are so very fun. :)

Lol thanks for the srt. Now I can fully appreciate the movie since my japanese was not really that good to catch some of the faster dialogues. XD and the subs should confirm if I had really interpreted the lines/plot in the movie correctly. XD

and I added you in flist for random. hope you don't mind. XP

You're welcome for the srt. :)

I don't have time to update very often these days (and sadly behind on dramas and toku--like, I don't think I've seen the episode your icon comes from), but I'm honored that you add me just the same. In fact, that reminds me that I'd like to ask to add you on f-list for a while now (I occasionally lurk on your journal, though not recently and probably not as often as you come to visit mine), but never did get around to it. I'll go ahead and add your journal now. :)

XD. Well nowadays I mostly either post about doramas and toku... and I needed to find some more doramas to watch LOL. Since almost half of the drama series I had been following had ended. XD
