Oh, I was going to go back and try to find out why it was Fushigi-chan but you thankfully translated it later in the post. :p Tiga is Marina's coach? Hm, that makes Tiga a little more interesting to me than just being an outsider. They mentioned in the wiki page for Ultraman 80 that he was said to be the ninth Ultra bro in Mebius so I'd assumed the 8th was Leo. This whole Tiga thing is throwing me off. But maybe it really won't be too bad.

Oh, no. Ultraman Tiga's human identity is Daigo. Sorry I wasn't being clear. ^^;

Shinjo (Marina's coach) is another character from Ultraman Tiga. His role is similar to George's, I think. (The cool sharpshooter who dispenses good, sensible advices to the hero and whom the hero mostly looks up to. ^^)

Ah, I see. Well, guess that means I'm on the fence about liking Tiga again. :p How can they just keep inserting new kyoudai? *sniffles* Makes the real kyoudai seem less special.

"little oddball", a translation I'm totally in love with

Oh, good. We spent a while trying to figure out something that made sense but kept the feeling of the original. "Little weirdo" was another possibility, but "fushigi" doesn't have as condemning a feel in Japanese as "weirdo" does in English.

I'm having fun poking through the rumors and stuff on the movie, so you'll have to put up with random bursts of researchy enthusiasm from me. I tend to mark rumors very clearly as rumors, versus stuff that's confirmed.

That's an interesting cultural note on the translation. Hopefully you'll put it on the website?

Oh, I appreciate that you post about your research findings, rumors or no. I only meant I won't personally talk about rumors, especially since I don't seem to really understand what I'm passing on. ^^

*blinks* Okay, we can put that note in. Oddly, I didn't even think it worth mentioning. Guess I've just been studying Japanese too long.

I totally loved Rinko-san there! She was probably even more awesome than Marina, I always like the female characters who can beat men up :DD

Lol, I actually thought that this one time GUYS would kill the monster themselves, and was quite disappointed that Mirai turned into Mebius before GUYS even had a go at fighting. I wasn't too happy to see Hikari, either. Sure, he helped, but it should have been GUYS' job...

Her descriptions were great, I totally laughed at them. Konomi and Sakomizu really do sound like the most normal people there. Well, probably they actually are :D But it's cute how she makes fun of her colleagues, but still likes them a lot.

I was quite happy that her racing team boss recognised that she is where she needs to be and approved of her job - it would have been too sad if Marina actually felt like she was sacrificing her dream and was causing somebody bitter feelings...

I guess Rinko has a good intuition :DD

Yup, Rinko is another guest character I wish could return in a later episode. The actress is awesome in everything I've seen her in (well, only in two other tokusatsu shows ( ... )

Yeah, too bad there the cool guest characters didn't return in this show - it would have been much more interesting than old Ultramen coming to help Mebius. Although it would not fit with the idea of an anniversary show :DD ( ... )

I think there is no reason both the guest characters and the Ultramen can't reappear and coexist. That would manage to please both us and the fans who like the previous Ultramen ( ... )
