I wonder why the intersection of Cambridge Road and Girton High Street seems to attract roadworks like a yellow T-shirt on a hot summer's day attracts flies.

Some junctions in central cambridge seem to have the same effect. The common accepted explanation is that they have a non-euclidian geometry generator buried there and the government is trying to find it.
