While I completely understand the sentiment...most geeks should know that one...one of the few aspects of the movie that just doesn't gell in my mind :s
Alas we forego plausibility for a good solid joke.
And knowing what it means is one thing, being able to make sense of the ubiquitous, yet undecipherable error message is another. Dare I ask why it doesnt just say "Out of Paper Tray X" or "Insert paper". Bah, logic!
I got a printer that said "PC load letter." Never touched Epson since. Don't care if the are supposed to be more robust or what ever technical merit.. their designers are sadists or at best incompetent when it comes to UI design.
