Most people don't have a yarn desk full of yarn and hand dyed roving. Most people don't have a yarn desk period. Most people don't dye their own wool.

Not to mention, most people don't even know what roving is! We forget these things sometimes... Gotta love jargon. And your yarn desk is rather impressive.

This is also true. I do often have to explain what it is. Though often I have some around and can pull it out and be like "it's this!"

And thanks. It's actually more populated now that I've done some more dyeing batches (though some of the stuff pictured there is gone, since people bought it). Sometimes I decide what colors of wool to dye based on what I think is missing from the yarn desk.

I hadn't realized until now just how much you get to play with color. I'm so jealous! Color is awesome. My favorite things in the picture are the two yellowish pieces (bunches? I don't know the appropriate collective noun) on the middle shelf and right shelf. Really cool!

The collective noun would be rovings. Actually, both of those rovings no longer live on the yarn desk, because people bought them. At some point I'll probably make ones similar to those two.
