Summary: Takahashi Shako, a normaly student with normal friends, who goes to a normal school and normally loses her wallet...O_O yes, it's normal to lose a wallet. A girl who is cursed with bad luck in love has struck gold when a boy returns her wallet.....i apologize for such a bad summary.
Chapter 22
When Shako ran out the door, tears were already pouring down her face. Gentle flakes of snow were falling as Shako ran. She ran to Maki’s house and the second she opened the door, Shako flew into Maki’s arms crying and making the front of her t-shirt wet with her tears.
“Shako what’s wrong?!” Hiro ran to the door when she saw Shako.
“Daiki’s mad at me… I don’t know why. Plus I made a really stupid mistake.” Shako explained the whole story to Hiro and Macchan who pulled her into the house and gave her a cup of hot cocoa. When Shako finally stopped crying and finished her story, Maki and Hiro sat there ready to give their opinion of the whole argument.
“Well I don’t think you should let THAT bother you. Come one Shako, you’re stronger than this!” Maki patted Shako on the back for support.
“Macchan’s right you know. Let’s go to the music store and go get his present. We’ll go back your house with you. You’ve gotta clear this misunderstand with Arioka-san.” Hiro took their coats off the coat-rack handing them out while slipping her arms into hers. The snow was starting to come down harder than before.

Daiki was back at the house with his face in his hands, thinking about a way to confront Shako. The phone rang and he picked it up.
“So Shako how did it go? Was he surprised?” Chisato started talking before even making sure it was Shako on the other line.
“Shako’s not here. Surprised? Why would I be surprised?” Daiki asked Chisa.
“SHE DIDN’T GIVE IT TO YOU!? WHERE IS SHE?!?” Chisato screamed over the phone so loudly that Daiki had to pull it away from his ear.
“I don’t know. We had an argument and she ran out. I really hurt her feelings… I got mad at her for making plans today… But I didn’t exactly tell her why I didn’t want her to…God I feel terrible.” Even though Chisato wasn’t that close to Daiki, he needed someone to talk to.
“Eh? She made plans?... OH THAT! Umm… I’m not supposed to spill any secrets…but since I think you REALLY need to know, I’ll tell you. Shako DIDN’T actually make plans. She was just going to go pick up your present since the guy at the store is so damn slow. Can you believe it? Making her go pick it up on CHRISTMAS DAY. We went shopping earlier this week but no, it took them until TODAY to finish. Get it Arioka-kun? She didn’t make plans. Now go find her and apologize!”
“H-hai!” Daiki took a few seconds to recollect his thoughts, “Thanks Ayamoto-san!” Daiki hung up the phone and grabbed his jacket, heading towards the front door. He opened the door to find Shako, key in her hand, about to unlock the door. Behind her were Maki and Hiroto carrying Daiki’s present.
The second Daiki saw Shako he dropped his jacket and pulled his girlfriend forward into an embrace. “I’m sorry Shako, I’m so sorry for yelling at you. I didn’t know. I didn’t know that you were planning to surprise me, nor did I know you were afraid of Kai-kun. I’m so blind.” By that time Maki and Hiro carefully put the present down and RAN away before they could see anything they weren’t supposed to.
“Daijoubu Dai-chan. Don’t worry about it. I’m sorry for freaking out on you and for ruining your plans…Did I hurt you? I slapped you pretty hard…” Shako inspected Daiki’s cheek. It was still a little red. “Gomen Dai-chan…..but I went out to go get this.” She pulled away from Daiki’s hug to grab the present left on the front steps. “Merry Christmas,” Shako said as she handed it to Daiki.
“Why don’t we go inside? It’s cold out here,” Daiki shivered and pulled Shako into the living room, both of them sitting down on the couch. He opened his present. It was the guitar he had been admiring for the past three months. Daiki constantly mentioned how he wanted the guitar, but didn’t actually go to buy it. He ran his fingers over the body of the guitar and noticed something etched into the wood. “Merry Christmas Daiki <3” it said in small letters on the back. “Arigatou Shako…” he put the guitar aside and hugged his girlfriend. Daiki stood up to get something off the table. “Merry Christmas!” he said handing her the velvet box.
Shako opened the box and found a beautiful pair of silver earrings. The earrings were in the shape of detailed snowflakes. In the box was also….a weed? Daiki suddenly took the branch and held it above their heads. Ah…mistletoe. Daiki kissed Shako under the mistletoe. When they broke apart he said, “part two of your present” with a huge grin on his face. “Ja…I WAS going to cook dinner for you as part three…but since our little…argument…I didn’t have time to… I guess we’re ordering out?” he shyly smiled.
“Every where’s closed Dai-chan… Ja, I have an idea!” Shako stood up and grabbed Daiki’s hand, pulling him towards their small kitchen. “We’ll just cook together then!” she said as she took her apron off of the hook and tied it around her neck and waist. Daiki stood there with a blank stare. Cooking together….he had never thought about it. Shako was a good cook and Daiki was like a tornado in the kitchen. When they cooked together though, Daiki was able to slowly, but surely able to do something. He was chopping the vegetables while Shako was standing at the stove watching over the sizzling meat in the frying pan.
After they finished cooking, they sat down at their small table.
“Itadakimasu!” they said together as they took the first bite.
“Oishii!” Shako exclaimed, covering her mouth as she chewed. For some reason, the food tasted even better than it usually did.
After dinner and a Christmas special on the couch, the two were just talking when Daiki had an idea.
“Wait here for a second Shako.” Daiki unwrapped his arms from around and moved to grab the present he got from Shako. “Yabu-kun’s been teaching me to play. I think I’ll be able to play something…” Daiki sat down and started to play. Shako recognized the tune immediately. Konayuki. How did Daiki manage to play so well? He just got his guitar…then again he’s been learning from Yabu-kun for a few months now. Shako watched as Daiki’s fingers graced over the strings of the guitar. When he played the last note Shako clapped for him.
“It’s not perfect but it’s getting there.”
“That was amazing Dai-chan!” she was staring at him in awe. “You learnt so much in so little time! Sugoy~”
“I can learn more now thanks to you Shako. Thank you for your present. Merry Christmas.” He kissed her on the cheek.
“Merry Christmas Dai-chan! Ah!” Shako jumped up from the couch and ran into their bedroom. She came out pulling their blanket behind her. “It’s warm here. Why don’t we sleep in the living room?”
“Sure.” Daiki smiled and lied down on the couch, making room for Shako. She sat down beside Daiki and pulled the covers over both of them.
“Oyasumi Dai-chan”
“Oyasumi”

Daiki and Shako spent their New Year with all their friends. They had a small party at their house with Yabu, Chisato, Maki, Hikaru, Inoo, Chinen, Morimoto, Yamada…..well you get the picture. It was all their friends. Everyone was having a good time at the party especially Hiro, Inoo, Maki and Hikaru, who were all getting along well. Hiro and Inoo were talking off in a corner about the books they’ve read, new scientific discoveries they made…smart people stuff. No one else understood a single word of what they were saying so they were left alone. On the other hand, Maki and Hikaru were the life of the party. Their energetic and jumping-off-the-wall personalities didn’t clash at all. Hiro and Maki were both dumped months before and they hadn’t found any other guys since then. Maybe this was the chance they needed.
“Isn’t it nice to feel like cupids Dai-chan?” Shako giggled while watching her friends.
Daiki laughed, “Those guys… they were just saying how sad they were that everyone else had girlfriends except for them. I’m sure they’ll be happy.”
“Nee minna there’s only one minute ‘till midnight!” Chinen called from the couch. He was watching a New Year’s program. They were going to start the countdown soon. Everyone rushed over to the couch to watch while Daiki pulled Shako somewhere else.
“Dai-chan where are we going?” She could hear the countdown and everyone shouting.
“10….9….8…7….6…..5….4….3….2…1…Happy New Year!”
When everyone yelled that they were in the New Year, Daiki pulled Shako towards him and his lips landed on hers.
“Happy New Year Shako! Let’s hope for many more New Years together nee?” he smiled shyly before turn back to go into the living room.
“Wait!” Shako grabbed Daiki’s arm and pulled him to face her. “Happy New Year” she said to him before kissing him again. They were both flustered after the second kiss but walked back into the living room anyway.
“Minna, Akemashite Omedetou*!” they said in unison.
A/N- I'm sorry for taking so long to post! I was stuck in a rut and didn't have ANY inspiration whatsoever. I finally got it back though~
And another year passes in this fic ~ so minna dou? Daiki and Shako reconciled banzai~ The next chapter's a little surprise that includes kindygarteners~ As always~ Comments and Criticisms are love <3
