Couldn't have done it without Flickr and the people who've uploaded their postcards. I don't have many of my own. I made some Moomin icons four or five years ago but couldn't find enough pictures at that time to make a proper batch.

I have a few images I found on the net, but I also own a copy of Moominpappa at Sea, and thought of scanning the illustrations and perhaps making the icons out of those.

You should. Most of my Moomin books are paperbacks and not easily scannable (even if the paper weren't yellowed with age).

I thought they should be appealing even if no one knew what they were. The illustrations stand well on their own without the stories.

I've been putting off making these for years. The time had come.

Huh. Someone friended and defriended me in the space of sixty seconds. That's novel.

I had been thinking of asking if you'd make some Moomin icons, and apparently you read my mind.

She looks like the sort of person who would friend me. I friended someone once by accident but it's not easy to do.

I should be doing any number of other things. Ah well. There's always tomorrow.

I still have quite a few empty spaces. I won't once I load them with Moomins. :)

Oooooo... must point these out to my daughter - she loves the Moomins. She has all the videos and books, and made a point of going to Moomin World the first time she went to Helsinki - and as she says, she was the only person not to have a child in tow, as well as being the only one who was English! Daughter is 22 ;)

I'm sure the children were there as camouflage. The Moomin books bear up better under adult scrutiny than most of the books I loved as a child. In fact, I love them more now, if that's possible.
