Wow. As the father of a 4 year old little girl who likes trains, race cars, and wearing pants, the thought of "forcing a gender identity on kids" just sickens me.

Remember, the proclivity towards being gay has been shown to be genetic. The only reason to "worry" about you kids becoming gay is if one of their parents are.

But large numbers of people believe that it's a choice, not inherent. They do not listen to reason or science on this topic.

Yes, true. As the human population of the Earth is significantly larger than it was ~600 years ago, I believe that there are more of them than those who believed the Earth was flat. That does not make them any more right. Sadly, like the flat versus round Earth, people will not believe until you "prove" it to them ( ... )

Oh, that article made me nauseated!

One thing comforts me and that's the fact that I have actually seen ordinary kids accept and protect a trans-gendered child. Someone in a school I will not name decided to have "gender day" and have all the boys dress in blue and the girls dress in red, (similar to how they adopt sports colors, etc.) for the day. On the day of the activity, in this school where the student body included at least two kids who were known to have gender confusion, almost all the students in sight wore BLACK as their protest to this sort of activity! I was so proud of them.
