For any mundane, non-critical one-on-one interactions with the scientist here, whether it be poking him for whatever reason, maintaining continuity, throwing him an item, or in general doing something that isn't momentous enough to require a whole post or log for it.

Er Professor Hastings? Are you-- [Ugh, even Knuckles knows that "Are you okay?" is a stupid question at this point.]

...

I thought I should see how you're doing, after everything that happened yesterday.

(ooc: I hope this is okay?)

[Does being Robert's partner mean being his answering service? This is the second time today.]

Yes? Who is this?

...

[Knuckles' thinks he might have heard that voice before, but he can't quite remember where.]

I'm Knuckles. Where's the Professor?

[Don knows he's heard that name before. Little red guy, very inquisitive.]

He isn't really talking to anyone today. If you want to wait a few minutes I'll see if I can get him on.

... D-Don?

[He wanted to talk to Don right away, yes, but even Robert can tell when the turtle is freaking out.]

What is the matter?

I think my Turtle Luck is rubbing off on you. How did you already manage to run into the Shredder?

Oh yes, this should PROBABLY be filtered :|; semper_cogitans July 20 2011, 17:56:14 UTC
... Literally. [Robert exhales slowly.] I... had the m-misfortune of... actually impacting with him outside the Item Shop.

Apparently he has... no c-compunctions against misleading people as to his intentions.

[Eggman loudly clears his throat into the journal's voice receiver.] A-he-he-he-hem! Professor Hastings? I may need your help regarding the use of the journal system.

[Eggman hates asking for help, but this fellow seems fairly gullible helpful and it saves any more frustration with the journal.]

[As if almost on automatic, Robert filters this reply immediately. Not only will it prevent anybody from listening in, but it will mask the fact he has correspondence with a known villain.

... Not that Robert is particularly ashamed of it, but the last thing he wants to do is present himself as dangerous.]

Ah... c-certainly, Doctor Robotnik. What sort of assistance d-do you require...?

Filters, Professor! I've been noticing unreadable, or otherwise suspicious areas of people's journal entries here and there. In my infinite wisdom I've surmised that these are probably due to the filters I read about in the Guide you so kindly gave me. Still, it didn't really give instructions on how to construct or deconstruct a filter, and the one page I thought might have a lead is mysteriously inaccessible to me now.

[That almost definitely says it's villain-filtered. And Robert knows that happens to be 100%, even though he's never used it.

Still... this is entirely possible for him.]

I would be... g-glad to teach you to manipulate filters. Though, er, bear in mind I have never... d-deconstructed filters... [Okay, he did it once out of anger...]

... It seems, er, somewhat inethical to break into other peoples' filters, though...

[Robert, as usual, promptly answers his journal. At the least he's been able to sleep without being afraid something will maul him, anyway.]

... Ah... Link? Salutations.

No, I... I am u-unoccupied, at the moment. Is there s-something the matter?

Ah, yes. Certainly... o-of course.

[Robert's not used to naming things. Especially not things that are special and public. He falters a little.] ... I am not... c-certain if I could do justice to the garden...

[But Raph could be honoured there too, now. It should be something important to everybody.]

If I could control them....?

[Japan isn't sure. He wouldn't really want to control simulations like these. He reaches out with a gloved hand and touches the side of the tower.]

.....I would have to think on this.

[Robert, in the meantime, would - even if only for researching or modelling purposes, this sort of technology has so many possible applications...]

... At the least, I am... c-certain you could make very accurate simulations with s-similar technology.

Yes...but I wonder if it isn't better to simply go to that place rather than try to get an experience via simulation....

... If it were... possible, I would.

[Robert gently bites his lip as he looks around this section of his own home... it barely feels like it anymore after this long.]

... But... I w-wonder if it is, anymore.
