[It's still fairly early in the morning when Don knocks on Robert's door, ready to commence their vigil for Helios' return. He still looks pretty roughed-up from last week's draft, but his spirits are good, and the bandage on his leg is gone. He's a little nervous about what Helios' "death loss" might be, but no matter what he'll be glad to see his friend again, as he's glad to see Robert now. It's their first time being alone together since the battle.]

[Don sits, scooting his chair closer to Robert's.]

I'll take you to the lake next week. You'll like it, I promise.

I am certain I will. [Robert closes as much distance as possible between them, enough so that he can practically cuddle up to Don, and nibbles some pancake.

... It's actually really tasty. Though it may be hunger talking to an extent...]

[Don eats the burnt edges and lets Robert have the rest.]

What else were you doing while I was gone?

I sh-should... should probably focus on something else...

[He finishes the pancake after a few moments - he was hungrier than he thought - and goes to clean the plate meticulously.]

... It is just... d-difficult. I... I have n-never had a friend... perish b-before.

[He doesn't even really want to dwell on it.]

[Don has lost people before... though the Professor, at least, came back. Sort of.]

Do you want to do anything while we wait?

[Though chances are that's exactly what will happen, though to be fair Helios' accidental broadcast isn't going to be loud enough to easily hear.]

[Robert picks up the journal as well as he bustles around, retrieving the Vitashell from the medicine cabinet.]

[Over by the couch is convenient. Don will be standing there when Robert comes back.]

[Robert sets the towel up on the floor, carefully - and fiddles with it obsessively, trying to get it exactly parallel with the couch and keep it perfectly flat.

After a few minutes of fussing, it looks like a machine might've deposited it there.]

... Is this... s-satisfactory?

[Don looks at Robert in vague astonishment, not that he really should be surprised.]

It's just so we don't make a mess on the carpet...

[Robert kind of cringes a little. The idea of mess on the carpet does not appeal to him.]

S-Surely that would necessitate a... w-well-placed towel, then.

[Still... he backs off from the towel, looking a bit anxious.]
