Um...yah. Sorry about that.

But sometimes I  A) have no words, or  B) have too MANY words, and this afternoon was kind of a weird mix of both. In the end I just couldn't get it together enough to write anything coherant, so I finally gave up altogether. I was kind of hoping that after some rest, dinner and a shower that I'd be a bit calmer, but ( Read more... )

Yah, it's not until you acutaly see it for yourself that the reality of abuse really sinks in. It was like that with Dad, too, when he worked in CPS. Dad would come home talking about how they recsued a family and when they were given Happy Meals for lunch, they all left the toys in their packages, but clutched their cups and wouldn't let them go. But mom would just say, "Of course, cups can be used for anything, and if the only water you get you collect yourself outside, a cup saves your life." And he'd just keep flailing about "but...toys? Kids?" and she'd just say "No. Cups."

And then it'd slowly dawn on dad that, yah, mom had been those exact kids. She went though every kind of hellish abuse as a child and teen, offten takeing the punishments to sapre her younger sibblings. And as the only girl, she got some other ones of her own, too. And for her, there was no CPS to come rideing in to save the day ( ... )

I think this summs up my end of the feelings right now: http://xkcd.com/352/

God, I love that. And isn't THAT the truth, btw? Thank you though, sis, all the same. I know I can always count on you. ::hugs anyway::

And I didn't know that Joe used to work in CPS, or maybe I'd forgotten. Either way, I have even MORE respect for him now that I do know, because there's no possible way I could ever do that job. I think it'd probably kill me.

My mom has gone through the whole CPS thing at work four or five times now, at least, but I don't think it ever gets any easier. And this being my first experience, it was definitely a shock ( ... )
