Sketch Fest Wrap up!

I just participated in the August Sketch Fest from Ellen Million Graphics again. It's become a monthly ritual for me, or you could say addiction! I love joining in for it, and I can see some obvious and swift improvements in my work since I started way back at the beginning of the year (I think May was the first one?).

You have some crazy sketching skills Selina!! They are all beautiful, I hope some of these reappear as finished pieces. I was super jazzed you picked one of my prompts too :)

Glad you joined in! Fun isn't it? Once I'm done with the last artworks for the LOOONG overdue oracle deck I'm illustrating some of these will be the first things I paint. I came close to claiming some of your other prompts too, but there were only so many hours in the day :)

11!! Wow! My favs are the Gnome Reaper and the Walk in the Woods.
I am addicted to SketchFest too, and while I'm not seeing improvement in my technical skills yet (I still rely heavily on references) I have become a lot more brave and varied with subject matter. It also seems to be helping me get my paintings closer to the vision in my head.

Bring on the next one I say!

I think it helps in all sorts of ways. I wasn't very happy with last months batch of sketches, but this month feels like the plateau was passed! I reckon give yourself a go next time not using photo references and see how you go. You might be surprised!

Terrific work! I can actually see an improvement the last couple of months with your sketches - which is kind of scary since you were already so good, I didn't think they could get better!

My favourites from this month are Beloved and the Enchanted Search Frogs. Unicorn Sonata and A Walk in the Woods are close behind.
