I watched Donnie Darko tonight for for the first time.

+ I cried at the end which was a normal reaction to the film.

- I'm not interested in normal films yet.

Shit has to be some heavy Christ-like redemption tale for me to relax and kick back with a beer with it. Seriously.

Oh well. Progress is progress.

It was a heavy film. I'm still debating what it meant, but usually I just appreciate the weighty roles and the depth to the lead. It was truly alarming, to me.

Someone asked me to list some of my favorite movies, and they were all projects of indie directors. Even I had no idea I was so strictly in that camp. Coen, Jarmusch, Anderson. Can't quite get into Hal Hartley, though, and not for lack of trying.

I remember when you were little. You loved Wings of Desire.

I haven't seen it. Do you still recommend?

Absolutely, Wings of Desire and Far Away, So Close are excellent films. The first one is much superior, though. Absolutely avoid City of Angels.
