So we should have been at Hogwarts by now. Our seventh and final year. But instead we're stuck here. I guess I should start making some friends.

My name's James Potter and I'm a wizard. I live with my girlfriend, my best friend and his boyfriend. Oh and some guy who is apparently my son's best friend.

And Hogwarts is the school I go to. It's a school for witches and wizards. And a wizard is just male person who can do magic, like me.

So there are people on your world who can cast magic without the aid of something else which allows them to actually cast the magic then?

On my world, only those who are capable of using something called materia are able to cast magic and then the type of magic depends upon the type of materia within their possession.

Yes. But mostly we use wands.

Interesting. We use incantation and wrist movements with our wands to cast different spells. And for some people, it's really difficult.

To answer your initial inquiry about being in Hogwarts (how exciting is this to say? LIKE SERIOUSLY SAY.), more than likely whoever brought you lot here can also return you as if no time has passed. The whole thing about traveling through the time stream is that you can pretty much make it seem like you were only gone in a blink of an eye even if it's days, weeks, months or years.

So that means Lily is with you then? And Ron too. Oh Ron, good ol' Ron... actually, he's kind of like Rory. That poor child.

[Shin had offered to make dinner that night. Having returned from the necessary grocery shopping, he was in the kitchen making preparations. He was used to having no one around until the scents started filling the air, so when James came in while Shin was still getting out the pans and arranging the ingredients, he was a little amused.]

You'll have to forgive me, but I'm afraid supper is nowhere close to be prepared yet. However, if there's a course you'd like to add...

[He was trying so hard to be friendly - not doling out empty sympathies, yet trying to lift the mood of the house.]

[James closed the kitchen door and sat down on the other side of the table. As usual around Shin, James looked a little awkward, but nevertheless this had to be done. He watched the other boy for a few moments before looking away and speaking.]
