Seeing Earth from an airplane was weird. The endless stretch of desert beneath them was weird. Duo had grown so used to the island, he'd almost forgotten what space really looked like, and not just the outer kind. He'd never gone anywhere on those strange weekends, he'd always been left behind. It hadn't hit him, how long it had been. The flight to Egypt had him glued to the window like a little kid, eyes wide and bluer than usual, reflecting back the sky. There was so much of it. He couldn't believe he'd forgotten. He possibly hadn't sat that still for that long in his whole life.

When the glimmer of the Nile and the flash of the sun reflecting off white rooftops in Cairo were showing in the distance, he started to pull himself together- got up, stretched, splashed some water on his face. He made fun of Moist a little and talked around the situation with Quatre, and then they were landing.

Private airstrip. Not even attached to a real airport. Which was for the best, since his face was probably plastered on wanted posters all over those things.

"Wow," he said, kicking himself across several seats, arms tucked behind his head, "travel. I forgot what that was like."
