Summary: When human race faced the biggest threat of all times, Jin found what he has been looking for his entire life, unbeknown to him, it has always been at the reach of his hand.

Notes: This fic is meant to be a gift for my friends, I dedicate this to them with all my love. Also the fic is set in a semi AU world (Jin isn’t married) in 2014. I took the name of the city inspired in Shakespeare’s most famous love story, so credits to him or Italy for putting such an awesome name to a city^^

Jin wanted to be alone. He didn´t have the strength to go back to his room and share his bed with Pi. He may need some reflecting, because it was evident that something weird was happening to him. Why did he act like a jealous girlfriend all the frigging time? He wasn´t a saint and he’d had a good amount of lovers and girlfriends; why wouldn´t Pi do the same? Besides it happened four years ago.
Why couldn´t he be at ease with this?
What the hell was happening to him?
Regardless of the reason he knew he couldn´t sleep with Pi that night. He went to the dorms area and knocked on Ryo´s and Tatchan´s door. Nobody answered him. He sighed heavily and went downtown to have some air; he saw Ryo walking to the park, so he followed to ask him if he could change place with him that night. He didn´t mind sleeping with Ueda; they have been part of the same band for more than ten years after all.
He saw him walking to the lagoon. Surprisingly Ueda was there too. He was about to interrupt them when he heard Ueda speaking.
“There you are”
“Uhm” Ryo uttered. He had his hands in his front pockets and looked uncomfortable “About what you saw, it was her doing that you know?”
Jin felt like if this was a private conversation, so he remained hidden behind some palms for them not to see him; he would wait for some minutes then ask.
“Was she doing it the other night too?” Ueda asked sarcastically.
Ryo growled in annoyance, Jin wondered what the hell was going on with these two.
“I just….”Ryo started hesitating “I just don´t like the fact that you can read my mind. Thoughts should be private!” he said exasperated.
“As I said I don´t do it on purpose; besides, it´s not like your dreams are not affecting me either; you are very…. graphic” Ueda uttered and shuddered after. Jin could see how Ryo blushed and rubbed his head embarrassed.
“Ok I admit it, I have the hots for you; is that crime!?” Ryo inquired irritated.
Jin gasped. Maybe he should go; it looked like these two were confessing or something, but if he goes he would have to confront Pi and go to bed eventually; so he decided against it and stay there anyway.
“Of course not,” Ueda said and chuckled.
“What are you laughing at?” Ryo asked him accusingly glaring at him “What do you know?” he asked right after with a panicked face, like if he was scared of Tatsuya discovering something else, maybe that something he was trying so hard to hide.
“Do you know why I didn´t take any retaliations against your bullying, even if I could have kicked your ass, or why I went with the others searching for you?” Ueda asked him shyly,
“As much as it can shock you I don´t read thoughts” Ryo replied irritated.
“You know what? Forget it” Ueda said infuriated and turned around, ready to leave the place. Ryo prevented him from doing it by grabbing his arm forcefully. Ueda tried to free his arm and he did it with too much force, making Ryo lose balance who in exchange grabbed Tatsuya by his collar. One minute they were standing and the next thing Jin saw was both of them were landing noisily on the lagoon.
“Great now I´m soaked” Ryo whined once he managed to stand up, half of his body still in the water.
It was dark, so Jin could only see the silhouette of Ueda and heard him giggling like a naughty kid.
“I don´t see anything” Ryo complained, and soon after millions of glow-worms started to illuminate the lagoon. “Wow, didn´t know you could do that?” Ryo said and laughed when those little insects landed on his arms.
Jin had seen enough of sappy movies to know that this was extremely romantic. He felt like a intruder, but it wasn´t like these two were an item or anything, so it wasn´t like he was really nosing around right? He excused himself.
“I can´t, it´s Verona who is making them” Ueda explained, Jin could hear the amusement and irritation in Ueda´s voice,
“Eh? Where is she?” Ryo asked and turned around like if trying to see her.
“In her room”
“She knows we are here?”
“She does”
“Why is she doing all those things? It´s like she is enjoying my suffering or something”
Ueda remained in silence for some minutes, splashing the water around them. The water now was full of plankton too so it was illuminating everything too, their figures half hidden by the dark, and the white and yellow dots dancing on the water and around them.
“She knows things about me, about how I feel. She proved me by seducing you and she proved you the other day, when you tried to save me from her even if you knew you didn´t stand a chance. You dug your grave right then and there; she knows about your wet dreams so in her head she is just helping us to get together”
“Feelings? What feelings? And I do not have wet dreams about you!” Ueda stared at Ryo skeptically, “See? That´s why I hate the fact that you can read my mind”
“Oh please you are not that hard to figure out anyway”
“Ok then, what I am thinking now? And do not read my thoughts; block your power for a bit”
“I can´t do that”
“Of course you can. Come on….”
“Fine!” Jin saw how they were really close. He couldn´t see their faces but he could tell they were inches apart “You are thinking how my lips taste” Ueda whispered.
“I am not!” Ryo replied and as if he was extremely embarrassed he detached himself from the magical moment giving some steps back, but this time Ueda didn´t let him. Instead he grabbed his neck and kissed him, his friend jumping in surprise.
Ok maybe I really should go , Jin thought. He started to leave trying to make not even a single noise to break the spell, but he peeked once more before leaving and saw how it was Ryo now the one embracing and kissing Tatsuya passionately.
Fuck he would have to go to his room after all…

Jin walked slowly through the town, thinking about everything that has happened. Now all Ryo´s weird actions made sense; maybe something like that was happening to him too.
Ok, let´s just think about this Jin urged himself,
You were terrified of not seeing Pi again when the invasion started…
You only hear music when Pi is in your life…
You feel jealous of imaging Pi and Verona messing around…
Matchmaker Verona is evidently pushing you and Pi over the edge like she did with Ryo and Tatsuya…

Wait, what? Jin asked himself. His feet suddenly glued to the ground unable to move,
Was he in love with Pi? He closed his eyes. Pi´s face appeared almost immediately, as it always did; Yamapi was the main constant in his life. He always thought that it was something normal between best friends, but maybe, just maybe, he did felt more for him.
Why would he act like an angry girlfriend otherwise?
Why would those nights where Pi embraced him be the most beautiful and peaceful ones?
He put his hand over his heart; feeling and hearing it bump madly against his chest, he imagined his lips, those deep eyes that have always seemed like infinity for him and now made him want to lose himself in them. He clearly could see those parted lips; he wondered how would they taste. Probably like heaven, perfect, like all Pi was.
He felt a twinge of desire directly in the base of his stomach.
Damn! It was better when he didn´t know what was happening to him, because now he knew he didn´t think he was prepared to lose Pi or have him in any other way than as a lover.
Damn! He was doomed. He now needed to confess; best friends tell each other everything right? But first they needed to talk...

He entered his room and saw his best friend passing back and forth like a lion on its cage. He stopped immediately when he saw him. Their eyes glued to each other instantaneously; he felt how the pulse in his neck accelerated dizzily; He breathed. He was Jin fucking Akanishi. There was no way he was going to cowering up because of this; the hell, he was the person everybody thought was going to fail in the States and he proved them wrong. He was the person that challenged everything and everybody to make his dreams come true, and Pi was now his dream. He wasn´t going to run away from it; he was not that type of person.
He has been brave all his life. There was no way he would start being a scardy-cat now. He was not Nakamaru! He breathed heavily like he always did before a concert trying to give every cell of his body strength and courage.
“We need to talk” he said and Pi flinched at his serious tone of voice.
“Ok” Pi uttered quietly.
“I need you to tell me everything, why you didn´t tell me you were a Nagooni, why you have been lying to me all this years, why were you mad at me when I left, everything!” he ordered “I need to tell you something, but I won´t do it unless I feel I can trust you completely and it´s about time we stop running always from this” he pointed at Pi and him.
“Ok….”Pi smiled half heartedly. His hands were trembling visibly; Jin understood that. he might look all brave right now, but he was a bubbly mess inside; he was just being his usual self not letting anything break him apart, or at least faking it. “Can you just not look at me when I talk?” Yamapi asked him shyly.
“What?” Jin was taken aback.
“I just can´t say certain things if you look at me” Pi said honestly, his voice clearly shaking.
Jin smiled involuntary. Pi has always been like that, all secure on the outside but a shy kid on the inside; realization of knowing that his Pi was there made him feel happy, probably the happiest he has felt since he arrived that place.
Jin silently took his clothes off, feeling how he blushed when he saw Pi staring at him with wide eyes. He then opened the bed´s sheets and covered himself with them; he put his arms under his head and stared at the ceiling; Pi took the hint and did the same. He turned off the lights, now only the little emergency light barely illuminating the room, and once they were both lying on the bed staring at the ceiling, he took some moments to start talking.
“When I first realized I was Nagooni it didn´t bother me. I just felt like I just had to simulate being a human until the invasion started; I cared about my mother and sister, but I just didn´t think what would happen to them if the invasion actually got through. the first time I regretted being a Nagooni was when I met you; you were so innocent and happy and stupid and all those things that makes you who you are” Jin snorted, but didn´t interrupt him “we started to hang out and I saw how you acted with your family, how deep you loved them and it was the first time I asked myself what would happen to you, to your family and to mine after the invasion, if it would be able to erase that constant smile from your face….” He stopped and breathed “I remember kind of telling you once, do you remember? We were seventeen and we went with your family to the sea; we were looking at the ocean seated in a big cliff”
“I remember that….”Jin interceded, seeing blurry images of them and the breakdown of the afternoon in front of them.
“Remember what I told you?” he stopped and looked at Jin for the first time. it was a second though; Pi was soon staring at the ceiling again “I asked you what would you do if I told you some day I was from another planet and you told me as long as I had my boobs and I didn´t grow some green antennas on my head you would still love me” Jin blushed at the memory. He had totally forgotten about it “Few years later I remember asking you again and you told me ´Do you still have boobs?´” he laughed “You always made me laugh when you said those things you know? It was like no matter what bad thing you could see about me you would still be there,”
“That´s the plan” Jin interrupted and smiled. He couldn´t see it, but he perceived Pi´s smile even before he resumed his speech.
“When you left I was crushed. I have always thought of you as the main reason that makes me human; you are the only one that pushes my buttons and feelings to no end, so when you left I felt like I lost my humanity, and the fact that you didn´t care about leaving everything only made me more furious about it”
“But I did care. I just needed a break; I felt like my life was anything except what I wanted” Jin explained.
“I know, you are just spontaneous as that, but I felt like you took all my emotions with you when you left, and I felt so empty…”
He understood Pi. The hell, he always was out of music when he wasn´t around, but he felt disappointed that Pi didn´t get him. “I felt that way too. It was not as easy as I made everybody think it was; I thought out of everybody you would get it”
“I did get it. You just wanted to have a time for yourself for some time but the fact that I knew why didn´t mean that it was less painful” he said, and Jin couldn´t find his words; what would he say? It was exactly that, he was the kind of person that needed to be alone when everything was too much. it was just the way he was “When the invasion started I panicked,” Pi proceeded “I didn´t understood what was happening. I always thought that they would always tell us first; we have been working on the resistance, for years, to actually have the opportunity to fight them back. We were drinking in that club and it all happened so fast; one minute you were next to me and the following I was watching people die next to me. I didn´t stop looking out for you since that moment; I´ve always been afraid of telling you about me, because I have never wanted anything that could make you look at me differently and right then when they were attacking I thought that I have waited for too long. After that you were going to look at me and wonder about the capacity of destruction my race has”
“That´s not you, that´s them” Jin said honestly.
“You did freak out though” Pi pointed sadly “I was devastated by seeing that look in your face, and for a moment I was happy I never told you, because that meant that for fifteen years you looked at me like if I was the coolest person ever not some freak. I hated how you seek Ryo´s arms every five seconds; it was a torture. I thought that if I wasn´t who I am I would be the one hugging you not him” he said with a lump in his throat “I have been hating Ryo to the guts for the last two months, how you two always hung out, every time I come here and he is lying on our bed like some sort of slut or something and I hate myself for it because he is my friend you know”
“I know” Jin said. Feeling that knowing Pi felt as jealous as he was made his belly feel thousand butterflies; he rubbed it in an attempt to ease the weird sensation.
“I even imagined how I killed him sometimes you know?” Pi said with clear shame in his voice.
“Pi!” Jin scolded.
“I know, I´m horrible. I imagined how I would make the ceiling land on his head and crush his entire body with it; seems like my Nagooni nature shows up at times like those” he said apologetically.
“I think that´s actually very human” Jin said remembering how sometimes he imagined that he was shooting Verona when practicing with the guns.
“Verona approached me once. she knew of course; she knows everything” he said and Jin snorted “She told me ´I remember you having a good pair of balls, what the hell are you doing and why are you not using them?´” Jin felt jealous again. remembering that they had a past history was still hard for him; now that he understood himself better, he thought that it maybe was because Pi and Verona looked perfect for each other, and he didn´t want anybody but himself at Pi´s side “She stopped me from harming Ryo a couple of times. Once I saw you two playing in the lagoon; you were so close; we are Japanese! We are not supposed to be so physically close to people!” Pi exclaimed outraged. Jin couldn´t help but giggle and feel pure delight of seeing Pi like that. His friend might be a Nagooni but his heart was definitely Japanese “It´s not funny!” Pi said annoyed.
“It totally is!” Was he a bad person for liking jealous´ Pi; maybe he liked that that jealousy was for him and only him.
“Verona has been messing up my mind. I forbid her to do that with you; she complied but she has been torturing me for two months” he sighed tiredly.
“What kind of things does she do to you?”
“Just see stuff, situations, she lets all your unconscious thoughts become images in your head; sometimes it´s too graphic, too real and you feel like it will drive you insane” Yamapi replied frustrated.
“Why did you hang out with her that much then?” Jin asked hearing his own accusative tone.
“Well, she gets serious when we talk about work and the counteroffensive, so the only times I had of peace were actually then, so that´s why I was working that much. doesn´t mean that the minute I put my head on this pillow she wouldn´t be bombarding my head like crazy”
“She did the same with Ryo” Jin told him.
“I know, I tried to get her out of it, but she is stubborn. She proves people and when she is sure that the feelings are mutual she would mess up everything, or rush things depending on how you see it” Jin remembered her seducing Pi and staring at him challengingly. Was she proving him then?
It has worked though.
“How was it?” Jin asked, because he was as masochist as that.
“What?”
“To have sex with someone of your kind”
“It was good I guess”
“You guess?”
“It was different. The orgasm lasted for half an hour” Pi explained making Jin widen his eyes in the process and jump shocked in the bed.
“Ehhhhh!!!!????” he screamed. He punched the sides of his body with his fist Great, just great, how the hell you compete with that? Jin asked himself and felt bloomy. He felt better when Pi giggle and elbowed him in the ribs, both still staring at the ceiling stubbornly; it definitely helped nevertheless.
“We were just using each other Jin. We were just trying to forget everything; she wanted to stop thinking about her husband for a moment and I was trying to make my heart stop aching by your leaving. it didn´t work though” Pi said serious, and Jin felt relieved, because there was no way he could compete with a half an hour orgasm so he was counting on Pi to really love him instead “What do you want to tell me?” Pi asked him quietly.
“Oh just that I´m in love with you” Jin said obliviously totally losing his word filter. He blushed madly after that, and cursed himself for being so blunt and stupid.
He felt Pi tensing at his side. Was it a good thing?
“Should I kiss you know?” Pi asked him unsure.
“Why would you want to do that?” Jin asked agitated, feeling his heart beat rise.
“You know why!”
“No I don´t” Why would he? It wasn´t like Pi told him he loved him or anything.
He heard Pi sighing at his side and rubbing his head frustrated, “God Jin can´t you tell by all the things I´ve just said that I fucking love you too!?” he said with rage. it wasn´t the best confession ever; it was probably the first time that someone said that to him like if he was mad about it or something. It didn´t fail to make all his body melt though. Thank God he was lying down otherwise he would be on his knees right now.
They remained in silence for some minutes. Jin felt hot, like he was so red that he would combust in any second; maybe he was an ET after all.
“That was the suckiest confession ever” he said just to tease Pi and actually cut the sexual tension between them.
Wait, sexual tension?
Perfect, just perfect, Jin thought feeling how he got even more scarlet.
“Oi, yours wasn´t any better!” Pi complained “And shut the fuck up so I can kiss you!” Pi ordered annoyed,
Jin laughed. This was so like them, being stupid, oblivious and extremely violent about things that make them shy; no wonder Ryo was their best friend too.
“Mmmm so are you ready?” Pi asked him still unsure, his voice lightly shaking.
“Dude, it´s me, even if you are the worst kisser in the world I will forgive you” Jin told him between a new wave of laughter,
“Shut up, I am a hell of a good kisser and you shouldn´t be laughing; you should be all nervous and gigiddy” Pi told him annoyed.
“What the hell is gigiddy?”
“I told you, what you should be feeling!”
They fell silent again and then they both started laughing hysterically,
Yep definitely like them.
“Ne Pi,” Jin said shyly “You still have boobs and you don´t have green antennas on your head right?” his heart skipped a beat.
Pi smiled, and finally gaining the courage to hover on top of Jin, he rubbed their noses together sweetly; Jin felt his breath being taken away from him.
“I don´t, but I do have a green cock though” Pi said with a husky voice bemusedly next to his lips.
Jin laughed and Pi captured his lips for the first time, brushing his tongue passionately against his claiming his attention, his passion, his love, his heart, his soul all at once.
Tomohisa was a hell of a good kisser indeed…

Shirota and Kame were chuckling. For the last half an hour the couple had been working their asses off by not trying to laugh at them, thank God not only them.
They were seated at a big table in the huge dining room where everybody took breakfast before starting the training. Ryo and Ueda were in front to him and Pi; it was probably the first time he had seen Ryo that red, not that Tatsuya was all cool. On the contrary they were two pairs of tomatoes that hardly could look at each other.
He and Pi were like that too probably, he pondered, when he felt his cheeks burning from heat. The previous night’s darkness had helped them to open up and do…other things… but now under the bright artificial lights of the bunker, it was extremely difficult to stop being a shy idiot and actually look at your boyfriend.
No wonder Kame and Shirota were laughing their asses at them.
“Are we all a happy family or what!?” Verona suddenly appeared and took a seat at the head of the table with her breakfast tray.
“Guys please meet real Verona” Kame said amusedly. She shoved her tongue at him and they both giggled.
“What can I say, I´m such a hard fujoshi” She said and smiled brightly at them. “That reminds me, can I watch sometime?” she asked Ryo and Ueda with a perverted smirk.
Jin wasn´t the only one taken aback. Ueda, Ryo, Shirota and he include were all gaping at her; who was this girl really? It was like a whole new character; all that sensuality and man-eater appearance have disappeared completely. All her smiles and movements were extremely cheerful and sympathetic.
“Pervert!” Kame slapped her head.
“Itai! “ She complied and rubbed her head while pouting cutely.
“You are going to scare them with your baka real self” Yamapi said faking annoyance.
“Talk with the hand” she ordered and put her hand in front of Pi´s face who tried to bite it instead making her retreat giggling; surprisingly they looked like siblings. Jin felt even more relieved because of it. “I thought the first thing you and Ryo chan would say to me when you first see me was ´thank you´” she said puffing her cheeks “My heart feels hurt” she put a pained face and rubbed her heart like if it was aching.
“Stop the drama” Kame said and she immediately giggled and shoved a huge sandwich into her mouth. “I can see you still eat like a pig” he continued smiling at her.
She instead of feeling offended smiled and spoke with her mouth full “I´m a fat ass Kame chan” she said and continued munching.
“Does she have a clone or something?” Jin asked Pi in a whisper.
“Ohhhhh!!” Ryo uttered agreeing; apparently Jin said it louder than what he thought.
“I do not!” She said offended staring at Jin then she smiled. Jin felt like buzzing on his head; it wasn´t painful it was just weird,
“Didn’t Pi forbid you from doing that?” Ueda asked her knowingly,
“That was before they fucked” She said bluntly making Jin and Pi cough in embarrassment “Besides I´m just trying to see how it went last night” she said defensively raising her hands in a peace sign “Seems like I have enough porn material to get me entertained for the next century” she ended mockingly.
“Oi!” Pi complained. Jin couldn´t do much more than blush madly in his seat. Thousands of images of him and Pi making love rushed to his mind involuntary.
“Oh please don´t stop~” Verona said mockingly to him like if she was enjoying what his head was showing; even Ueda got even redder and looked at the other side.
Pi elbowed her “Stop it!” She laughed a happy, true, honest smile that somehow made everybody at the table feel relaxed and smile back at her.
“So before we get serious I wanted to give my congratulations” She started while drinking some orange juice “I won´t apologize for torturing you because thanks to that you will all live happily forever after and have tons of beautiful chubby babies, which I expect at least one out of the three couples at this table puts my name on one of your children” She said and Jin had the sensation this was weirder than what it looked like. Not once even in million years would he have imagined that this type of personality was hidden under the beautiful Nagooni leader.
“Why do you say before we get serious?” Kame asked her bemused and curious.
“Don´t avoid the subject Kame! You totally have to name your baby girl after me!” she said glaring at Kame who laughed while shaking his head “Oh! I have to give you guys the heads up of what´s going to happen next week in the bunker” she continued serious then stopped and laughed again “Heads up…haha!” She repeated and laughed some more.
They against their will chuckled and threw a big laughter; this girl was simply contagious.
“Anyway, we are having a leader´s meeting next week; remember that I told you there are another five bunkers where the resistance operates? Well each leader is coming, we are preparing ourselves; we have just five months ahead of us before the real deal stars” She said serious, and for once Jin understood what Pi meant when he said that she only gets serious by talking about the war “My sources in Nagoonia told me that they are preparing themselves too”
“Does that mean that we have allies on your home planet?” Jin asked.
“We sure do! We are expecting a float of thirty thousand ships to arrive; twenty percent of those are loyal to us. They are supposedly coming on behalf of our planet but once here they´ll attack Nagoonia’s ships” Verona explained.
“But how come there are Nagoonis helping us?” Ryo asked surprised.
“Well in that sense we are pretty much like humans; there´re countries that like wars and others that don´t. even in a same nation, there are people that hate wars and we aren´t different. There are lots of peaceful Nagoonis; they are too tired of fighting actually” She explained “And some of them are just doing it because they want to see my father defeated”
“Have you talked with him?” Pi asked worriedly.
“Yes, he sent me a message. He told me that I still have time of backing off; if I do it, I would be able to come back to my planet and have a peaceful life there” She answered.
“What did you say?” Kame asked her quietly.
“That he should have thought about it before chopping my husband and my child” she replied with a mourning look. They fell silent, Jin knowing that story, but Ueda, Yuu and Ryo were staring at her wide eyed. “I want to warn you, my father is coming and no other than I can take care of him are we clear? If you step in the middle I won´t hesitate in blowing your heads off” she ordered fiercely, pure hate visible in her eyes. Now Jin understood why Pi also said that Verona has never overcome her family´s death.
She was out for some minutes spacing out. Ueda looked at her, and whatever he saw made him caress her hand in an assuring manner; she smiled weakly at him and then she was her cheerful self again.
“Anyway, leaders are coming, please be careful of the Alaskan leader” she said and continued eating.
“What´s with him?” Ryo asked.
“He is a jerk,” She said bluntly, “But don´t worry, you are under my wings and I won´t let that bastard mess with you!” She said and raised her hand in a fist. She took her tray and left as quickly as she came.
“Is she crazy?” Jin asked while frowning confused.
“I heard that!” Verona yelled from the other side of the dining room.
They all laughed and ended their breakfast. At least her blunt presence has helped them to be less nervous. Ueda and Ryo even smiled at each other and he peeked at Pi; he wasn´t able to look at him yet, but he grabbed his hands under the table, making Yamapi blush immediately,
He tightened the hold though.
Right then and there he knew that the future awaiting them as a couple was brighter than the sun, but they had a war to win first.
Resolution and fierce protectiveness roared in his heart.

Before he knew the war was already upon them. The adrenaline in the bunker was palpable; everybody was excited and fearful at the same time. Whatever happened after the war it would mean the end or a new beginning, and knowing that such implications for an entire planet were that close only increased the general uneasiness they were all feeling.
The leaders and the entire army were together now, the float was arriving in two days and they were just few hours afar from the event of their lives.
The other leaders were mostly men. There was another girl, Boupha, really young from the Cambodia bunker; Jin wondered how someone so young could be part of this, but Pi told him she was the third in power. They ranked the leaders by force; Verona was the first of course, the second one was a tall American green eyed guy, Josh, really muscular with dark hair, leader of Alaska. The fourth one was a middle aged man, Carlos, with dark skin and extremely black eyes; he was a giant from Jin’s point of view his height rounded the eighty five inches, from Rio de Janeiro’s compound. The fifth was a little man, around his age, from the Beijing bunker, Lee. He looked really weak, but Pi told him he was the fastest among them. And the last one a man with boring looking eyes and a big nose, Paolo, from the Sicilian bunker.
They were all really nice, and approachable. The giant, as Jin called him showed him pictures of his entire family; the guy had five kids, halfus, and one on the way. Boupha and Lee kept kissing every five seconds and Paolo was a ladies’ man that followed girls around charming them and then flying like a bee to the next flower. In the last months Jin had lost counts of how many women had slapped him; but Paolo always laughed it off. That was until a telekinetic type B Nagooni squeezed his balls and he spent a day in the infirmary. These days he was behaving himself.
Jin really liked them. He admired all those Nagoonis willing to sacrifice so much for them, for all of them, and he always thought that it was kind of ironic that the same race that was threatening humans´ existence was the same that could save them. All of them, brought hope and Jin couldn’t help but feel grateful. He was happy to be there, to have finally found true love in the middle of the disaster and especially to be part of a new beginning to human race. He didn’t see the entire invasion as the worst thing that could´ve ever happened any longer. Instead, he thought it was a new opportunity to bring a new beginning to human race, hopefully not making the same mistakes and valuing more the things that should be worshipped, not the ones that only brought pain and war for humanity once.
He had grown up a lot, and Pi was the first one to say so; that made Jin embarrassed and he couldn’t help but slap him when he said it. But it was true. He could feel in every inch of his body, mind and soul. He wasn’t the same as before; love, tragedy and hope had made him change.
From all the leaders, the one whom he was especially attached to was Josh.
Verona was wrong about him. the Alaska leader, was in fact one of the coolest people he had ever had the pleasure to meet; he was a nice funny guy, and Jin fancy himself of his ability to talk English with him. He watched as he and Verona fought all the time about the tiniest things. Jin figured he was a type D Nagooni, one that had the power to annoy and infuriate Verona like anyone. It was odd at first, until Jin realized Josh was absolutely in love with Verona, and he was a pain in the ass with her; his antics reminded him of Ryo and how he always acted like a five year old scholar when it came to his crushes. That similarity was one of the reasons the two made good friends with each other so fast.
Pi at first got jealous about his and Josh’s friendship, but when seeing how the American drooled over their leader his doubts died as fasts as one of Jin’s diet resolutions.
Even in the fatidic panorama they were facing, Jin has to admit, he has never been this happy in his entire life. His life with Pi, really being together and loving each other; waking up every morning with his kisses and lying exhausted at night after a hot passionate love making session with Pi every day was one of the best things that ever happened to him. He blamed himself and his own obliviousness for not noticing before how much Pi completed him, in every sense. He should have known by the level of connection they have shared from day one, that being in a romantic relationship with him would be similar to paradise.
Because, being with Pi, was as natural as breathing. Everything flowed like breeze, from the tiniest things to typical lovers’ jealousy quarrels. It all came so naturally, that Jin wasn’t really sure if they haven’t been lovers -without sex- their entire lives, although adding the sex has been absolutely fantastic. The cherry at the top of the most sweet, cute and lovely cake he could have ever imagined.
God, loving Pi was making him a cheesy pussy.
But who cared, he was unbelievably happy.
And he was, he really was. The only thing that brought black clouds to the white bliss he was living in was the fear of the war, because yes, humans could have a new begging but if and only if they won the war. He wanted that life with Pi forever, not only for the time being until the battle.
They were currently assembling bombs and guns, not like the regular ones of course. Those things were high tec, that human race haven’t even dream of yet. The room was full of people, humans and Nagoonis with humans’ hearts, all of them working together. They had million of pieces on large tables. He looked at his side and saw Pi frowning at the gun that was suspended in front of his head; he just couldn’t put the parts like everybody else; he just had to create some new thing totally different from what they were originally doing. He rolled his eyes and grinned fondly. He saw parts of guns flying around his head, and Pi looking and concentrating at them and trying different paths and places with the parts; he kept trying until something absolutely new and with increased purpose was created. At time like those Jin couldn’t help to chuckle and admire his boyfriend. He was indeed very intelligent; he smirked and pinched his ass, making Pi jump in surprise and all the pieces he was now working on landed hardly on the floor.
“Jin!”
Jin smiled at his scowl and red cheeks and kissed him briefly before resuming his task; he took another look just to see Ryo bothering Ueda for ignoring him and Kame and Shirota almost fucking on the table.
“I DON’T FUCKING CARE WHAT YOU THOUGHT, YOU DO AS I SAY!”
“I WILL DO WHATEVER I WANT AND THINK IS THE BEST PLAN TO FOLLOW!”
Jin, and pretty much everybody lifted their heads at the heated fight Verona and Josh were having. Those two just couldn’t spend an entire hour without a fight; it was amusing really. he wondered how Verona couldn’t tell how much loved she was by Josh; she did had the ability to read thoughts, but Pi told him that type A Nagoonis could block mind reading and other types of abilities from other Nagoonis making them even more powerful than what Jin already thought.
Jin laughed out loud at their fight and the rest of his friends smirked, except Ryo who was pulling Ueda´s shirt to peek in his abs; he kept ignoring Tatsuya´s gentle slaps and giggles. They were really cute together; Jin just hoped all the little amount of happiness they were having didn’t die within the next hours.

“NOW!”
Verona screamed in their heads and the plan was set to action. Jin was with the rest of type C warriors and humans in a ship flown by Ryo and another human, the locked gates of the bunker opened and all ships started to fly outside.
Once in the open, Jin gulped, planet EARTH wasn’t green and full of life anymore; it was dark, humid, and depressing. He never thought that the first thing he saw after months of being underground would be so discouraging. He saw Ryo gritting his teeth and landing a few meters away next to other ships that were leaving warriors on the ground.
He looked at the sky and saw thousands of ships and a good amount of Nagoonis with dark egg shaped helmets marching their way at them. He started to shoot at them, and as on cue the rest of the infantry started to shoot at the targets.
Telekinetic gifted Nagoonis were at the front of the formations, preventing death rays from reaching the infantry. Jin’s heart constricted when he saw Pi at the front leading the rest of his Nagoonis types against the enemies. He prayed to whatever was up there to give them the opportunity to win, to end that war and the pain once and for all. But most of all he prayed for Pi’s and his friends’ lives.
He spotted Tatsuya and others like him burning down enemy’s airships and Ryo backing him up with gunshots of their own ships.
Shirota and Kame were leading a group of humans and Nagoonis near the biggest airship and mercilessly throwing punches, rays and shots at the opponents.
Nagoonis were hard to battle against, everything they did was efficiently blocked; they were more than prepared to fight their own looking by how good they were at it. It lasted until some supposedly enemy airships started to shoot against other Nagoonia airships and assets. Those were the allies, and right after the formation they were portraying was broke completely, they have obviously not expected treason.
Verona, Josh and the rest of the leaders plus some type A Nagoonis, were flying above them, making the earth crack at their feet, and all elements of nature battling and backing up the traitorous, but convenient, allies.
The biggest ship opened and a muscular middle aged man flew like a ray from there, his face showed ferocious rage and he directed himself at Verona, who retaliated and threw fire, water and rocks against him.
Jin could tell. It was her father.
They kept fighting for dear life and Jin could see how the scale started to incline on their favor. Verona´s father was losing and so were the rest of his followers. The powerful rival was on the verge of collapsing for good.
Jin noticed how Verona´s father suddenly landed hard on the ground after a ray that came directly from the sky electrocuted him. He saw Verona frowning at Josh, the obvious culprit of the move, and the latter smiling mischievously at her. She sighed and landed near where her father was lying.
“Goodbye father”
The final blow against Nagoonia’s leader and worst human threat was made and he was dead on the ground now. And Jin knew…David has just won against Goliath.

Peace.
Everywhere he looked, he recognized that expression from everybody’s faces.
He saw him, the love of his life, the one he discovered and really saw for the first time a few months ago with a content smile spread widely on the ground and panting heavily.
He was dirty, sweaty and absolutely unappealing.
And God…Jin couldn’t love him more.
He ran to him and hugged him tightly, and kissed him fiercely, tears of happiness and hope fighting to get out of his body by pounding his heart mercilessly against his rib cage. Pi smiled brightly at him.
The victorious chorus and screams of joy were heard across the battle field.
He glimpsed Ryo getting out of the airship and Ueda running to him. Shirota and Kame with their faces close clenching their hands together. Verona, with the most peaceful smile Jin has ever seen on her face grinning at Josh, and the rest of the leaders hugging and congratulating everybody.
The spaceships were far already; Jin almost couldn’t see them anymore.
They were finally free from menace.

Five years later…
The Republic was the name of the only human city that was left; it was an utopist piece of land where everybody lived in harmony with the rest of citizens.
The Nagooni/Human distinction was no longer a topic. There were only humans and humans with special abilities.
Reconstruction of earth has been hard. The first two years they had to live in the bunker because of how polluted and harmed the atmosphere was. Nagoonis’ mark on their path to Earth was hard to erase from the planet and from its creatures’ hearts, but it wasn’t impossible. Pi and others created machines specialized in cleaning the environment; clones were needed to restore the fauna and flora of the planet. And after a long wait, when it was finally safe, they went outside once again, this time to find their green and blue planet alive once more.
Jin saw his family again two months after that; ships were bringing everybody together. He still remembers crying when hugging his mom and dad; his brother and now wife were expecting a baby. Jin felt happy that new life was going to be born into a new world.
There was no crime, a few misfits here and there, but nothing serious. Humans have learned their lesson.
Some of them were in charge with food, others of technology, and others of education and little by little The Republic was born. Foundations of a new society were established, and Jin had to admit they have done a good job.
The last human city was beautiful, a perfect mixture of rustic and modern and above all: their home.
He and his friends lived nearby. They were so used to living close to each other, that by the time the moment of choosing a place to live came, they decided on the same neighborhood. Ryo and Tatchan lived together, of course, same as the others, but work actively for the government protection forces along with Pi. Shirota and Kame taught in an elementary school and Verona was expecting her first baby child with Josh; that guy has won two battles from his point of view. Jin still worked as a musician, not that he could make any concert at the former Tokyo dome, but, it was nice to still play for other people. He has always love music after all, and he had to admit that not being an idol anymore, and just singing for the sake of love to music has been what he wanted to do all along.
He and Pi had a beautiful home near a river, and Jin played the guitar on their porch every afternoon after work. They adopted a cute six year old boy, Akira, an orphan of the disaster, and the current source of their daily laughter and happiness.
Jin really couldn’t be happier. At the end, after all the pain, loneliness and deception, he found his happy ending.
Funny what the threat of extinction can do to people.
He looked at Pi that was playing with their son in the water, trying to teach him how to catch a fish and smiled fondly at the picture.
“Hey Pi!”
Jin screamed from the porch, the guitar lying loosely between his legs. Yamapi lifted his head and directed a curious look at Jin. “Uh?”
“Do you still have boobs and no green antennas?”

Jin wanted to be alone. He didn´t have the strength to go back to his room and share his bed with Pi. He may need some reflecting, because it was evident that something weird was happening to him. Why did he act like a jealous girlfriend all the frigging time? He wasn´t a saint and he’d had a good amount of lovers and girlfriends; why wouldn´t Pi do the same? Besides it happened four years ago.
Why couldn´t he be at ease with this?
What the hell was happening to him?
Regardless of the reason he knew he couldn´t sleep with Pi that night. He went to the dorms area and knocked on Ryo´s and Tatchan´s door. Nobody answered him. He sighed heavily and went downtown to have some air; he saw Ryo walking to the park, so he followed to ask him if he could change place with him that night. He didn´t mind sleeping with Ueda; they have been part of the same band for more than ten years after all.
He saw him walking to the lagoon. Surprisingly Ueda was there too. He was about to interrupt them when he heard Ueda speaking.
“There you are”
“Uhm” Ryo uttered. He had his hands in his front pockets and looked uncomfortable “About what you saw, it was her doing that you know?”
Jin felt like if this was a private conversation, so he remained hidden behind some palms for them not to see him; he would wait for some minutes then ask.
“Was she doing it the other night too?” Ueda asked sarcastically.
Ryo growled in annoyance, Jin wondered what the hell was going on with these two.
“I just….”Ryo started hesitating “I just don´t like the fact that you can read my mind. Thoughts should be private!” he said exasperated.
“As I said I don´t do it on purpose; besides, it´s not like your dreams are not affecting me either; you are very…. graphic” Ueda uttered and shuddered after. Jin could see how Ryo blushed and rubbed his head embarrassed.
“Ok I admit it, I have the hots for you; is that crime!?” Ryo inquired irritated.
Jin gasped. Maybe he should go; it looked like these two were confessing or something, but if he goes he would have to confront Pi and go to bed eventually; so he decided against it and stay there anyway.
“Of course not,” Ueda said and chuckled.
“What are you laughing at?” Ryo asked him accusingly glaring at him “What do you know?” he asked right after with a panicked face, like if he was scared of Tatsuya discovering something else, maybe that something he was trying so hard to hide.
“Do you know why I didn´t take any retaliations against your bullying, even if I could have kicked your ass, or why I went with the others searching for you?” Ueda asked him shyly,
“As much as it can shock you I don´t read thoughts” Ryo replied irritated.
“You know what? Forget it” Ueda said infuriated and turned around, ready to leave the place. Ryo prevented him from doing it by grabbing his arm forcefully. Ueda tried to free his arm and he did it with too much force, making Ryo lose balance who in exchange grabbed Tatsuya by his collar. One minute they were standing and the next thing Jin saw was both of them were landing noisily on the lagoon.
“Great now I´m soaked” Ryo whined once he managed to stand up, half of his body still in the water.
It was dark, so Jin could only see the silhouette of Ueda and heard him giggling like a naughty kid.
“I don´t see anything” Ryo complained, and soon after millions of glow-worms started to illuminate the lagoon. “Wow, didn´t know you could do that?” Ryo said and laughed when those little insects landed on his arms.
Jin had seen enough of sappy movies to know that this was extremely romantic. He felt like a intruder, but it wasn´t like these two were an item or anything, so it wasn´t like he was really nosing around right? He excused himself.
“I can´t, it´s Verona who is making them” Ueda explained, Jin could hear the amusement and irritation in Ueda´s voice,
“Eh? Where is she?” Ryo asked and turned around like if trying to see her.
“In her room”
“She knows we are here?”
“She does”
“Why is she doing all those things? It´s like she is enjoying my suffering or something”
Ueda remained in silence for some minutes, splashing the water around them. The water now was full of plankton too so it was illuminating everything too, their figures half hidden by the dark, and the white and yellow dots dancing on the water and around them.
“She knows things about me, about how I feel. She proved me by seducing you and she proved you the other day, when you tried to save me from her even if you knew you didn´t stand a chance. You dug your grave right then and there; she knows about your wet dreams so in her head she is just helping us to get together”
“Feelings? What feelings? And I do not have wet dreams about you!” Ueda stared at Ryo skeptically, “See? That´s why I hate the fact that you can read my mind”
“Oh please you are not that hard to figure out anyway”
“Ok then, what I am thinking now? And do not read my thoughts; block your power for a bit”
“I can´t do that”
“Of course you can. Come on….”
“Fine!” Jin saw how they were really close. He couldn´t see their faces but he could tell they were inches apart “You are thinking how my lips taste” Ueda whispered.
“I am not!” Ryo replied and as if he was extremely embarrassed he detached himself from the magical moment giving some steps back, but this time Ueda didn´t let him. Instead he grabbed his neck and kissed him, his friend jumping in surprise.
Ok maybe I really should go , Jin thought. He started to leave trying to make not even a single noise to break the spell, but he peeked once more before leaving and saw how it was Ryo now the one embracing and kissing Tatsuya passionately.
Fuck he would have to go to his room after all…

Jin walked slowly through the town, thinking about everything that has happened. Now all Ryo´s weird actions made sense; maybe something like that was happening to him too.
Ok, let´s just think about this Jin urged himself,
You were terrified of not seeing Pi again when the invasion started…
You only hear music when Pi is in your life…
You feel jealous of imaging Pi and Verona messing around…
Matchmaker Verona is evidently pushing you and Pi over the edge like she did with Ryo and Tatsuya…
You are in love with Pi…
Wait, what? Jin asked himself. His feet suddenly glued to the ground unable to move,
Was he in love with Pi? He closed his eyes. Pi´s face appeared almost immediately, as it always did; Yamapi was the main constant in his life. He always thought that it was something normal between best friends, but maybe, just maybe, he did felt more for him.
Why would he act like an angry girlfriend otherwise?
Why would those nights where Pi embraced him be the most beautiful and peaceful ones?
He put his hand over his heart; feeling and hearing it bump madly against his chest, he imagined his lips, those deep eyes that have always seemed like infinity for him and now made him want to lose himself in them. He clearly could see those parted lips; he wondered how would they taste. Probably like heaven, perfect, like all Pi was.
He felt a twinge of desire directly in the base of his stomach.
Damn! It was better when he didn´t know what was happening to him, because now he knew he didn´t think he was prepared to lose Pi or have him in any other way than as a lover.
Damn! He was doomed. He now needed to confess; best friends tell each other everything right? But first they needed to talk...

He entered his room and saw his best friend passing back and forth like a lion on its cage. He stopped immediately when he saw him. Their eyes glued to each other instantaneously; he felt how the pulse in his neck accelerated dizzily; He breathed. He was Jin fucking Akanishi. There was no way he was going to cowering up because of this; the hell, he was the person everybody thought was going to fail in the States and he proved them wrong. He was the person that challenged everything and everybody to make his dreams come true, and Pi was now his dream. He wasn´t going to run away from it; he was not that type of person.
He has been brave all his life. There was no way he would start being a scardy-cat now. He was not Nakamaru! He breathed heavily like he always did before a concert trying to give every cell of his body strength and courage.
“We need to talk” he said and Pi flinched at his serious tone of voice.
“Ok” Pi uttered quietly.
“I need you to tell me everything, why you didn´t tell me you were a Nagooni, why you have been lying to me all this years, why were you mad at me when I left, everything!” he ordered “I need to tell you something, but I won´t do it unless I feel I can trust you completely and it´s about time we stop running always from this” he pointed at Pi and him.
“Ok….”Pi smiled half heartedly. His hands were trembling visibly; Jin understood that. he might look all brave right now, but he was a bubbly mess inside; he was just being his usual self not letting anything break him apart, or at least faking it. “Can you just not look at me when I talk?” Yamapi asked him shyly.
“What?” Jin was taken aback.
“I just can´t say certain things if you look at me” Pi said honestly, his voice clearly shaking.
Jin smiled involuntary. Pi has always been like that, all secure on the outside but a shy kid on the inside; realization of knowing that his Pi was there made him feel happy, probably the happiest he has felt since he arrived that place.
Jin silently took his clothes off, feeling how he blushed when he saw Pi staring at him with wide eyes. He then opened the bed´s sheets and covered himself with them; he put his arms under his head and stared at the ceiling; Pi took the hint and did the same. He turned off the lights, now only the little emergency light barely illuminating the room, and once they were both lying on the bed staring at the ceiling, he took some moments to start talking.
“When I first realized I was Nagooni it didn´t bother me. I just felt like I just had to simulate being a human until the invasion started; I cared about my mother and sister, but I just didn´t think what would happen to them if the invasion actually got through. the first time I regretted being a Nagooni was when I met you; you were so innocent and happy and stupid and all those things that makes you who you are” Jin snorted, but didn´t interrupt him “we started to hang out and I saw how you acted with your family, how deep you loved them and it was the first time I asked myself what would happen to you, to your family and to mine after the invasion, if it would be able to erase that constant smile from your face….” He stopped and breathed “I remember kind of telling you once, do you remember? We were seventeen and we went with your family to the sea; we were looking at the ocean seated in a big cliff”
“I remember that….”Jin interceded, seeing blurry images of them and the breakdown of the afternoon in front of them.
“Remember what I told you?” he stopped and looked at Jin for the first time. it was a second though; Pi was soon staring at the ceiling again “I asked you what would you do if I told you some day I was from another planet and you told me as long as I had my boobs and I didn´t grow some green antennas on my head you would still love me” Jin blushed at the memory. He had totally forgotten about it “Few years later I remember asking you again and you told me ´Do you still have boobs?´” he laughed “You always made me laugh when you said those things you know? It was like no matter what bad thing you could see about me you would still be there,”
“That´s the plan” Jin interrupted and smiled. He couldn´t see it, but he perceived Pi´s smile even before he resumed his speech.
“When you left I was crushed. I have always thought of you as the main reason that makes me human; you are the only one that pushes my buttons and feelings to no end, so when you left I felt like I lost my humanity, and the fact that you didn´t care about leaving everything only made me more furious about it”
“But I did care. I just needed a break; I felt like my life was anything except what I wanted” Jin explained.
“I know, you are just spontaneous as that, but I felt like you took all my emotions with you when you left, and I felt so empty…”
He understood Pi. The hell, he always was out of music when he wasn´t around, but he felt disappointed that Pi didn´t get him. “I felt that way too. It was not as easy as I made everybody think it was; I thought out of everybody you would get it”
“I did get it. You just wanted to have a time for yourself for some time but the fact that I knew why didn´t mean that it was less painful” he said, and Jin couldn´t find his words; what would he say? It was exactly that, he was the kind of person that needed to be alone when everything was too much. it was just the way he was “When the invasion started I panicked,” Pi proceeded “I didn´t understood what was happening. I always thought that they would always tell us first; we have been working on the resistance, for years, to actually have the opportunity to fight them back. We were drinking in that club and it all happened so fast; one minute you were next to me and the following I was watching people die next to me. I didn´t stop looking out for you since that moment; I´ve always been afraid of telling you about me, because I have never wanted anything that could make you look at me differently and right then when they were attacking I thought that I have waited for too long. After that you were going to look at me and wonder about the capacity of destruction my race has”
“That´s not you, that´s them” Jin said honestly.
“You did freak out though” Pi pointed sadly “I was devastated by seeing that look in your face, and for a moment I was happy I never told you, because that meant that for fifteen years you looked at me like if I was the coolest person ever not some freak. I hated how you seek Ryo´s arms every five seconds; it was a torture. I thought that if I wasn´t who I am I would be the one hugging you not him” he said with a lump in his throat “I have been hating Ryo to the guts for the last two months, how you two always hung out, every time I come here and he is lying on our bed like some sort of slut or something and I hate myself for it because he is my friend you know”
“I know” Jin said. Feeling that knowing Pi felt as jealous as he was made his belly feel thousand butterflies; he rubbed it in an attempt to ease the weird sensation.
“I even imagined how I killed him sometimes you know?” Pi said with clear shame in his voice.
“Pi!” Jin scolded.
“I know, I´m horrible. I imagined how I would make the ceiling land on his head and crush his entire body with it; seems like my Nagooni nature shows up at times like those” he said apologetically.
“I think that´s actually very human” Jin said remembering how sometimes he imagined that he was shooting Verona when practicing with the guns.
“Verona approached me once. she knew of course; she knows everything” he said and Jin snorted “She told me ´I remember you having a good pair of balls, what the hell are you doing and why are you not using them?´” Jin felt jealous again. remembering that they had a past history was still hard for him; now that he understood himself better, he thought that it maybe was because Pi and Verona looked perfect for each other, and he didn´t want anybody but himself at Pi´s side “She stopped me from harming Ryo a couple of times. Once I saw you two playing in the lagoon; you were so close; we are Japanese! We are not supposed to be so physically close to people!” Pi exclaimed outraged. Jin couldn´t help but giggle and feel pure delight of seeing Pi like that. His friend might be a Nagooni but his heart was definitely Japanese “It´s not funny!” Pi said annoyed.
“It totally is!” Was he a bad person for liking jealous´ Pi; maybe he liked that that jealousy was for him and only him.
“Verona has been messing up my mind. I forbid her to do that with you; she complied but she has been torturing me for two months” he sighed tiredly.
“What kind of things does she do to you?”
“Just see stuff, situations, she lets all your unconscious thoughts become images in your head; sometimes it´s too graphic, too real and you feel like it will drive you insane” Yamapi replied frustrated.
“Why did you hang out with her that much then?” Jin asked hearing his own accusative tone.
“Well, she gets serious when we talk about work and the counteroffensive, so the only times I had of peace were actually then, so that´s why I was working that much. doesn´t mean that the minute I put my head on this pillow she wouldn´t be bombarding my head like crazy”
“She did the same with Ryo” Jin told him.
“I know, I tried to get her out of it, but she is stubborn. She proves people and when she is sure that the feelings are mutual she would mess up everything, or rush things depending on how you see it” Jin remembered her seducing Pi and staring at him challengingly. Was she proving him then?
It has worked though.
“How was it?” Jin asked, because he was as masochist as that.
“What?”
“To have sex with someone of your kind”
“It was good I guess”
“You guess?”
“It was different. The orgasm lasted for half an hour” Pi explained making Jin widen his eyes in the process and jump shocked in the bed.
“Ehhhhh!!!!????” he screamed. He punched the sides of his body with his fist Great, just great, how the hell you compete with that? Jin asked himself and felt bloomy. He felt better when Pi giggle and elbowed him in the ribs, both still staring at the ceiling stubbornly; it definitely helped nevertheless.
“We were just using each other Jin. We were just trying to forget everything; she wanted to stop thinking about her husband for a moment and I was trying to make my heart stop aching by your leaving. it didn´t work though” Pi said serious, and Jin felt relieved, because there was no way he could compete with a half an hour orgasm so he was counting on Pi to really love him instead “What do you want to tell me?” Pi asked him quietly.
“Oh just that I´m in love with you” Jin said obliviously totally losing his word filter. He blushed madly after that, and cursed himself for being so blunt and stupid.

“Why would you want to do that?” Jin asked agitated, feeling his heart beat rise.

“No I don´t” Why would he? It wasn´t like Pi told him he loved him or anything.
He heard Pi sighing at his side and rubbing his head frustrated, “God Jin can´t you tell by all the things I´ve just said that I fucking love you too!?” he said with rage. it wasn´t the best confession ever; it was probably the first time that someone said that to him like if he was mad about it or something. It didn´t fail to make all his body melt though. Thank God he was lying down otherwise he would be on his knees right now.
They remained in silence for some minutes. Jin felt hot, like he was so red that he would combust in any second; maybe he was an ET after all.
“That was the suckiest confession ever” he said just to tease Pi and actually cut the sexual tension between them.
Wait, sexual tension?
Perfect, just perfect, Jin thought feeling how he got even more scarlet.
“Oi, yours wasn´t any better!” Pi complained “And shut the fuck up so I can kiss you!” Pi ordered annoyed,
Jin laughed. This was so like them, being stupid, oblivious and extremely violent about things that make them shy; no wonder Ryo was their best friend too.
“Mmmm so are you ready?” Pi asked him still unsure, his voice lightly shaking.
“Dude, it´s me, even if you are the worst kisser in the world I will forgive you” Jin told him between a new wave of laughter,
“Shut up, I am a hell of a good kisser and you shouldn´t be laughing; you should be all nervous and gigiddy” Pi told him annoyed.
“What the hell is gigiddy?”
“I told you, what you should be feeling!”
They fell silent again and then they both started laughing hysterically,
Yep definitely like them.
“Ne Pi,” Jin said shyly “You still have boobs and you don´t have green antennas on your head right?” his heart skipped a beat.
Pi smiled, and finally gaining the courage to hover on top of Jin, he rubbed their noses together sweetly; Jin felt his breath being taken away from him.
“I don´t, but I do have a green cock though” Pi said with a husky voice bemusedly next to his lips.
Jin laughed and Pi captured his lips for the first time, brushing his tongue passionately against his claiming his attention, his passion, his love, his heart, his soul all at once.

Shirota and Kame were chuckling. For the last half an hour the couple had been working their asses off by not trying to laugh at them, thank God not only them.
They were seated at a big table in the huge dining room where everybody took breakfast before starting the training. Ryo and Ueda were in front to him and Pi; it was probably the first time he had seen Ryo that red, not that Tatsuya was all cool. On the contrary they were two pairs of tomatoes that hardly could look at each other.
He and Pi were like that too probably, he pondered, when he felt his cheeks burning from heat. The previous night’s darkness had helped them to open up and do…other things… but now under the bright artificial lights of the bunker, it was extremely difficult to stop being a shy idiot and actually look at your boyfriend.
No wonder Kame and Shirota were laughing their asses at them.
“Are we all a happy family or what!?” Verona suddenly appeared and took a seat at the head of the table with her breakfast tray.
“Guys please meet real Verona” Kame said amusedly. She shoved her tongue at him and they both giggled.
“What can I say, I´m such a hard fujoshi” She said and smiled brightly at them. “That reminds me, can I watch sometime?” she asked Ryo and Ueda with a perverted smirk.
Jin wasn´t the only one taken aback. Ueda, Ryo, Shirota and he include were all gaping at her; who was this girl really? It was like a whole new character; all that sensuality and man-eater appearance have disappeared completely. All her smiles and movements were extremely cheerful and sympathetic.
“Pervert!” Kame slapped her head.
“Itai! “ She complied and rubbed her head while pouting cutely.
“You are going to scare them with your baka real self” Yamapi said faking annoyance.
“Talk with the hand” she ordered and put her hand in front of Pi´s face who tried to bite it instead making her retreat giggling; surprisingly they looked like siblings. Jin felt even more relieved because of it. “I thought the first thing you and Ryo chan would say to me when you first see me was ´thank you´” she said puffing her cheeks “My heart feels hurt” she put a pained face and rubbed her heart like if it was aching.
“Stop the drama” Kame said and she immediately giggled and shoved a huge sandwich into her mouth. “I can see you still eat like a pig” he continued smiling at her.
She instead of feeling offended smiled and spoke with her mouth full “I´m a fat ass Kame chan” she said and continued munching.
“Does she have a clone or something?” Jin asked Pi in a whisper.
“Ohhhhh!!” Ryo uttered agreeing; apparently Jin said it louder than what he thought.
“I do not!” She said offended staring at Jin then she smiled. Jin felt like buzzing on his head; it wasn´t painful it was just weird,
“Didn’t Pi forbid you from doing that?” Ueda asked her knowingly,
“That was before they fucked” She said bluntly making Jin and Pi cough in embarrassment “Besides I´m just trying to see how it went last night” she said defensively raising her hands in a peace sign “Seems like I have enough porn material to get me entertained for the next century” she ended mockingly.
“Oi!” Pi complained. Jin couldn´t do much more than blush madly in his seat. Thousands of images of him and Pi making love rushed to his mind involuntary.
“Oh please don´t stop~” Verona said mockingly to him like if she was enjoying what his head was showing; even Ueda got even redder and looked at the other side.
Pi elbowed her “Stop it!” She laughed a happy, true, honest smile that somehow made everybody at the table feel relaxed and smile back at her.
“So before we get serious I wanted to give my congratulations” She started while drinking some orange juice “I won´t apologize for torturing you because thanks to that you will all live happily forever after and have tons of beautiful chubby babies, which I expect at least one out of the three couples at this table puts my name on one of your children” She said and Jin had the sensation this was weirder than what it looked like. Not once even in million years would he have imagined that this type of personality was hidden under the beautiful Nagooni leader.
“Why do you say before we get serious?” Kame asked her bemused and curious.
“Don´t avoid the subject Kame! You totally have to name your baby girl after me!” she said glaring at Kame who laughed while shaking his head “Oh! I have to give you guys the heads up of what´s going to happen next week in the bunker” she continued serious then stopped and laughed again “Heads up…haha!” She repeated and laughed some more.
They against their will chuckled and threw a big laughter; this girl was simply contagious.
“Anyway, we are having a leader´s meeting next week; remember that I told you there are another five bunkers where the resistance operates? Well each leader is coming, we are preparing ourselves; we have just five months ahead of us before the real deal stars” She said serious, and for once Jin understood what Pi meant when he said that she only gets serious by talking about the war “My sources in Nagoonia told me that they are preparing themselves too”
“Does that mean that we have allies on your home planet?” Jin asked.
“We sure do! We are expecting a float of thirty thousand ships to arrive; twenty percent of those are loyal to us. They are supposedly coming on behalf of our planet but once here they´ll attack Nagoonia’s ships” Verona explained.
“But how come there are Nagoonis helping us?” Ryo asked surprised.
“Well in that sense we are pretty much like humans; there´re countries that like wars and others that don´t. even in a same nation, there are people that hate wars and we aren´t different. There are lots of peaceful Nagoonis; they are too tired of fighting actually” She explained “And some of them are just doing it because they want to see my father defeated”
“Have you talked with him?” Pi asked worriedly.
“Yes, he sent me a message. He told me that I still have time of backing off; if I do it, I would be able to come back to my planet and have a peaceful life there” She answered.
“What did you say?” Kame asked her quietly.
“That he should have thought about it before chopping my husband and my child” she replied with a mourning look. They fell silent, Jin knowing that story, but Ueda, Yuu and Ryo were staring at her wide eyed. “I want to warn you, my father is coming and no other than I can take care of him are we clear? If you step in the middle I won´t hesitate in blowing your heads off” she ordered fiercely, pure hate visible in her eyes. Now Jin understood why Pi also said that Verona has never overcome her family´s death.
She was out for some minutes spacing out. Ueda looked at her, and whatever he saw made him caress her hand in an assuring manner; she smiled weakly at him and then she was her cheerful self again.
“Anyway, leaders are coming, please be careful of the Alaskan leader” she said and continued eating.
“What´s with him?” Ryo asked.
“He is a jerk,” She said bluntly, “But don´t worry, you are under my wings and I won´t let that bastard mess with you!” She said and raised her hand in a fist. She took her tray and left as quickly as she came.
“Is she crazy?” Jin asked while frowning confused.
“I heard that!” Verona yelled from the other side of the dining room.
They all laughed and ended their breakfast. At least her blunt presence has helped them to be less nervous. Ueda and Ryo even smiled at each other and he peeked at Pi; he wasn´t able to look at him yet, but he grabbed his hands under the table, making Yamapi blush immediately,
He tightened the hold though.
Right then and there he knew that the future awaiting them as a couple was brighter than the sun, but they had a war to win first.
Resolution and fierce protectiveness roared in his heart.

Before he knew the war was already upon them. The adrenaline in the bunker was palpable; everybody was excited and fearful at the same time. Whatever happened after the war it would mean the end or a new beginning, and knowing that such implications for an entire planet were that close only increased the general uneasiness they were all feeling.
The leaders and the entire army were together now, the float was arriving in two days and they were just few hours afar from the event of their lives.
The other leaders were mostly men. There was another girl, Boupha, really young from the Cambodia bunker; Jin wondered how someone so young could be part of this, but Pi told him she was the third in power. They ranked the leaders by force; Verona was the first of course, the second one was a tall American green eyed guy, Josh, really muscular with dark hair, leader of Alaska. The fourth one was a middle aged man, Carlos, with dark skin and extremely black eyes; he was a giant from Jin’s point of view his height rounded the eighty five inches, from Rio de Janeiro’s compound. The fifth was a little man, around his age, from the Beijing bunker, Lee. He looked really weak, but Pi told him he was the fastest among them. And the last one a man with boring looking eyes and a big nose, Paolo, from the Sicilian bunker.
They were all really nice, and approachable. The giant, as Jin called him showed him pictures of his entire family; the guy had five kids, halfus, and one on the way. Boupha and Lee kept kissing every five seconds and Paolo was a ladies’ man that followed girls around charming them and then flying like a bee to the next flower. In the last months Jin had lost counts of how many women had slapped him; but Paolo always laughed it off. That was until a telekinetic type B Nagooni squeezed his balls and he spent a day in the infirmary. These days he was behaving himself.
Jin really liked them. He admired all those Nagoonis willing to sacrifice so much for them, for all of them, and he always thought that it was kind of ironic that the same race that was threatening humans´ existence was the same that could save them. All of them, brought hope and Jin couldn’t help but feel grateful. He was happy to be there, to have finally found true love in the middle of the disaster and especially to be part of a new beginning to human race. He didn’t see the entire invasion as the worst thing that could´ve ever happened any longer. Instead, he thought it was a new opportunity to bring a new beginning to human race, hopefully not making the same mistakes and valuing more the things that should be worshipped, not the ones that only brought pain and war for humanity once.
He had grown up a lot, and Pi was the first one to say so; that made Jin embarrassed and he couldn’t help but slap him when he said it. But it was true. He could feel in every inch of his body, mind and soul. He wasn’t the same as before; love, tragedy and hope had made him change.
From all the leaders, the one whom he was especially attached to was Josh.
Verona was wrong about him. the Alaska leader, was in fact one of the coolest people he had ever had the pleasure to meet; he was a nice funny guy, and Jin fancy himself of his ability to talk English with him. He watched as he and Verona fought all the time about the tiniest things. Jin figured he was a type D Nagooni, one that had the power to annoy and infuriate Verona like anyone. It was odd at first, until Jin realized Josh was absolutely in love with Verona, and he was a pain in the ass with her; his antics reminded him of Ryo and how he always acted like a five year old scholar when it came to his crushes. That similarity was one of the reasons the two made good friends with each other so fast.
Pi at first got jealous about his and Josh’s friendship, but when seeing how the American drooled over their leader his doubts died as fasts as one of Jin’s diet resolutions.
Even in the fatidic panorama they were facing, Jin has to admit, he has never been this happy in his entire life. His life with Pi, really being together and loving each other; waking up every morning with his kisses and lying exhausted at night after a hot passionate love making session with Pi every day was one of the best things that ever happened to him. He blamed himself and his own obliviousness for not noticing before how much Pi completed him, in every sense. He should have known by the level of connection they have shared from day one, that being in a romantic relationship with him would be similar to paradise.
Because, being with Pi, was as natural as breathing. Everything flowed like breeze, from the tiniest things to typical lovers’ jealousy quarrels. It all came so naturally, that Jin wasn’t really sure if they haven’t been lovers -without sex- their entire lives, although adding the sex has been absolutely fantastic. The cherry at the top of the most sweet, cute and lovely cake he could have ever imagined.
God, loving Pi was making him a cheesy pussy.
But who cared, he was unbelievably happy.
And he was, he really was. The only thing that brought black clouds to the white bliss he was living in was the fear of the war, because yes, humans could have a new begging but if and only if they won the war. He wanted that life with Pi forever, not only for the time being until the battle.
They were currently assembling bombs and guns, not like the regular ones of course. Those things were high tec, that human race haven’t even dream of yet. The room was full of people, humans and Nagoonis with humans’ hearts, all of them working together. They had million of pieces on large tables. He looked at his side and saw Pi frowning at the gun that was suspended in front of his head; he just couldn’t put the parts like everybody else; he just had to create some new thing totally different from what they were originally doing. He rolled his eyes and grinned fondly. He saw parts of guns flying around his head, and Pi looking and concentrating at them and trying different paths and places with the parts; he kept trying until something absolutely new and with increased purpose was created. At time like those Jin couldn’t help to chuckle and admire his boyfriend. He was indeed very intelligent; he smirked and pinched his ass, making Pi jump in surprise and all the pieces he was now working on landed hardly on the floor.
“Jin!”
Jin smiled at his scowl and red cheeks and kissed him briefly before resuming his task; he took another look just to see Ryo bothering Ueda for ignoring him and Kame and Shirota almost fucking on the table.
“I DON’T FUCKING CARE WHAT YOU THOUGHT, YOU DO AS I SAY!”
“I WILL DO WHATEVER I WANT AND THINK IS THE BEST PLAN TO FOLLOW!”
Jin, and pretty much everybody lifted their heads at the heated fight Verona and Josh were having. Those two just couldn’t spend an entire hour without a fight; it was amusing really. he wondered how Verona couldn’t tell how much loved she was by Josh; she did had the ability to read thoughts, but Pi told him that type A Nagoonis could block mind reading and other types of abilities from other Nagoonis making them even more powerful than what Jin already thought.
Jin laughed out loud at their fight and the rest of his friends smirked, except Ryo who was pulling Ueda´s shirt to peek in his abs; he kept ignoring Tatsuya´s gentle slaps and giggles. They were really cute together; Jin just hoped all the little amount of happiness they were having didn’t die within the next hours.

“NOW!”
Verona screamed in their heads and the plan was set to action. Jin was with the rest of type C warriors and humans in a ship flown by Ryo and another human, the locked gates of the bunker opened and all ships started to fly outside.
Once in the open, Jin gulped, planet EARTH wasn’t green and full of life anymore; it was dark, humid, and depressing. He never thought that the first thing he saw after months of being underground would be so discouraging. He saw Ryo gritting his teeth and landing a few meters away next to other ships that were leaving warriors on the ground.
He looked at the sky and saw thousands of ships and a good amount of Nagoonis with dark egg shaped helmets marching their way at them. He started to shoot at them, and as on cue the rest of the infantry started to shoot at the targets.
Telekinetic gifted Nagoonis were at the front of the formations, preventing death rays from reaching the infantry. Jin’s heart constricted when he saw Pi at the front leading the rest of his Nagoonis types against the enemies. He prayed to whatever was up there to give them the opportunity to win, to end that war and the pain once and for all. But most of all he prayed for Pi’s and his friends’ lives.
He spotted Tatsuya and others like him burning down enemy’s airships and Ryo backing him up with gunshots of their own ships.
Shirota and Kame were leading a group of humans and Nagoonis near the biggest airship and mercilessly throwing punches, rays and shots at the opponents.
Nagoonis were hard to battle against, everything they did was efficiently blocked; they were more than prepared to fight their own looking by how good they were at it. It lasted until some supposedly enemy airships started to shoot against other Nagoonia airships and assets. Those were the allies, and right after the formation they were portraying was broke completely, they have obviously not expected treason.
Verona, Josh and the rest of the leaders plus some type A Nagoonis, were flying above them, making the earth crack at their feet, and all elements of nature battling and backing up the traitorous, but convenient, allies.
The biggest ship opened and a muscular middle aged man flew like a ray from there, his face showed ferocious rage and he directed himself at Verona, who retaliated and threw fire, water and rocks against him.
Jin could tell. It was her father.
They kept fighting for dear life and Jin could see how the scale started to incline on their favor. Verona´s father was losing and so were the rest of his followers. The powerful rival was on the verge of collapsing for good.
Jin noticed how Verona´s father suddenly landed hard on the ground after a ray that came directly from the sky electrocuted him. He saw Verona frowning at Josh, the obvious culprit of the move, and the latter smiling mischievously at her. She sighed and landed near where her father was lying.
“Goodbye father”
The final blow against Nagoonia’s leader and worst human threat was made and he was dead on the ground now. And Jin knew…David has just won against Goliath.

Peace.
Everywhere he looked, he recognized that expression from everybody’s faces.
He saw him, the love of his life, the one he discovered and really saw for the first time a few months ago with a content smile spread widely on the ground and panting heavily.
He was dirty, sweaty and absolutely unappealing.
And God…Jin couldn’t love him more.
He ran to him and hugged him tightly, and kissed him fiercely, tears of happiness and hope fighting to get out of his body by pounding his heart mercilessly against his rib cage. Pi smiled brightly at him.
The victorious chorus and screams of joy were heard across the battle field.
He glimpsed Ryo getting out of the airship and Ueda running to him. Shirota and Kame with their faces close clenching their hands together. Verona, with the most peaceful smile Jin has ever seen on her face grinning at Josh, and the rest of the leaders hugging and congratulating everybody.
The spaceships were far already; Jin almost couldn’t see them anymore.
They were finally free from menace.

Five years later…
The Republic was the name of the only human city that was left; it was an utopist piece of land where everybody lived in harmony with the rest of citizens.
The Nagooni/Human distinction was no longer a topic. There were only humans and humans with special abilities.
Reconstruction of earth has been hard. The first two years they had to live in the bunker because of how polluted and harmed the atmosphere was. Nagoonis’ mark on their path to Earth was hard to erase from the planet and from its creatures’ hearts, but it wasn’t impossible. Pi and others created machines specialized in cleaning the environment; clones were needed to restore the fauna and flora of the planet. And after a long wait, when it was finally safe, they went outside once again, this time to find their green and blue planet alive once more.
Jin saw his family again two months after that; ships were bringing everybody together. He still remembers crying when hugging his mom and dad; his brother and now wife were expecting a baby. Jin felt happy that new life was going to be born into a new world.
There was no crime, a few misfits here and there, but nothing serious. Humans have learned their lesson.
Some of them were in charge with food, others of technology, and others of education and little by little The Republic was born. Foundations of a new society were established, and Jin had to admit they have done a good job.
The last human city was beautiful, a perfect mixture of rustic and modern and above all: their home.
He and his friends lived nearby. They were so used to living close to each other, that by the time the moment of choosing a place to live came, they decided on the same neighborhood. Ryo and Tatchan lived together, of course, same as the others, but work actively for the government protection forces along with Pi. Shirota and Kame taught in an elementary school and Verona was expecting her first baby child with Josh; that guy has won two battles from his point of view. Jin still worked as a musician, not that he could make any concert at the former Tokyo dome, but, it was nice to still play for other people. He has always love music after all, and he had to admit that not being an idol anymore, and just singing for the sake of love to music has been what he wanted to do all along.
He and Pi had a beautiful home near a river, and Jin played the guitar on their porch every afternoon after work. They adopted a cute six year old boy, Akira, an orphan of the disaster, and the current source of their daily laughter and happiness.
Jin really couldn’t be happier. At the end, after all the pain, loneliness and deception, he found his happy ending.
Funny what the threat of extinction can do to people.
He looked at Pi that was playing with their son in the water, trying to teach him how to catch a fish and smiled fondly at the picture.
“Hey Pi!”
Jin screamed from the porch, the guitar lying loosely between his legs. Yamapi lifted his head and directed a curious look at Jin. “Uh?”
“Do you still have boobs and no green antennas?”
