[the sound of hands clapping over his mouth then releasing] Oh no. I-I'm sorry, everyone. I didn't mean to sound...

[shivers a bit, remembering how that dark side of himself had been released here in Luceti] It's a part of me, just like the 14th is part of you, yeah?

I hate remembering that. Knowing that, someday, I might not be myself anymore. [looks sadly over at his friend] Even if we've both got a darkness in us, it doesn't make us evil, Lavi. We can fight it. We've done a lot for others. You've done a lot for other people. You helped me when I first met you.

[moves his hand, brushing it over Allen's cheek, tracing the scar with his thumb] And you've helped me more'n you know. You saved me back then... I'll never forget it.

I... heard your voice. [leaning a little closer]

[shivers at the touch, his eyes going wide] You... You heard me? I was worried that you couldn't. [doesn't pull back, almost leaning forward a little himself] Then, when you turned your fire on yourself, I knew that you were still there. I could do something. No matter what you say, Lavi, I know you're not that person that was in the Ark. So please, don't blame yourself for that.

I heard you callin' for me... that's what got me outta there, in the end. [strokes his fingertips lightly over Allen's cheek, down to his jaw] That person... he's part of me, what I was, what I was supposed to be. It's still there, somewhere. But now... I'm Lavi, and you're Allen, not anyone else.

[very much in Allen's personal space now] What do you feel right now, Allen?

I'm glad. I couldn't leave you and let you deal with it on your own like Kanda and Krory. Not when I could do something. [leans a bit toward Lavi's hand, closing his eyes then smiling sheepishly, not pulling away in the least] ...I'm kind of nervous but...happy. And if you're asking if I mind how close you are, I don't.

Then maybe... you won't mind this... [heart pounding, leans forward and lightly presses his lips to Allen's]

[makes a light noise as their lips touch, kissing back though a bit awkwardly since he's not very well versed in such things, pulling back and licking his lips slowly] No... I don't mind at all. [slips his arms around Lavi to pull him into an embrace]

[pulls Allen closer, nuzzling his neck lightly] So... whaddya feel now?

[stiffens a bit at that, swallowing nervously as a small, pleasured noise escapes his throat] L-Lavi... [bites his lower lip before kissing Lavi's cheek] I'm still a bit nervous. It's not... I want to but is it too fast?

[kisses Allen's lips again gently] I ain't gonna rush you. I'm happy just to be with you like this, right now. [strokes fingers through his hair]

[kisses back with a gentle smile, sighing softly and contentedly] It must have been hard for you losing the Allen you first loved. [presses a bit closer, lightly kissing Lavi once more] I love you, too, Lavi. I have for a while.

[heart pounds a little faster at those words, and knows it's true because of the experiment] Allen... [can't say much more, and just holds him close, trying not to shiver]

He's still Allen... not the first one, but it's still him... still the same...

[closes his eyes and holds Lavi tightly, feeling relieved and worried at the same time] I take it back. This experiment isn't so bad. [laughs a bit] I guess...being honest isn't a bad thing all the time.
