[Even though it was still pretty cold outside, the areas north of the village weren't too far from House 1, so going for a walk seemed like it would all right. Ion was just getting ready to head back when he hears singing in the distance. Familiar singing. By the time he finds Tear, the song is already half over. And so, he closes his eyes and stands silently, listening to Tear sing.]

[It won't be long before she finishes, debating whether to try again. Knowing that Ion had heard would make her so happy, since she knew how much he had loved her hymns. It's somewhat bittersweet, really.]

[The applause catches her attention, but once she sees it's Ion a smile comes across her face, happy that he got to hear her sing after so long even though he should be inside.]

[Ion smiles right back, answering her question with a nod. It's been two weeks since he was returned, after all. He just needs to work on getting his strength back... aside from his voice, of course.]

[Of course, he is still wearing a very heavy coat and no less than three scarves to keep out the cold. He wouldn't want to worry everyone even more by getting sick.]

[He'll pull out his notebook to write to her in a little bit. For now, he wants to listen to her hymns. They always filled him with such warm feelings of nostalgia...! It's been far too long since he's had the opportunity to hear her sing.]

[And yet there's a part of him that feels like it hasn't. A strange sense of déjà vu that she's sung for him before... it was probably nothing.]

[Taking out his notebook and a pen, he waits for a break in her singing before writing:] That was beautiful, Tear.

[Ion nods with a small smile, but it might have just been a little sad. It was true, he did like Yulia's Hymns and Tear sung them beautifully. It was just a shame he'd never gotten the chance to tell her himself.]

I do. I can't help but feel so at peace when I hear them. They're quite nostalgic.

They are very nostalgic... [Especially now that she understands the meanings behind them, how they conveyed the desire to go against the Score...]

I think... that is part of what makes them so unique.

[Another small nod. Maybe it's that nostalgia getting to him, but for a moment he thinks about Auldrant. It has been a long time since he thought about home, knowing full well it would do no good to think about a place he could never return to... and yet here he was, listening to a song he thought he'd never have the chance to hear again. There's a moment of hesitance before he writes:]

I hope you don't think of me as selfish for saying so, but I'm happy you're here, Tear.

[She reads that sign, and can't help feeling conflicted. Of course she wants to return home and finish what they'd started, but at the same time almost everyone is here, albeit with slightly different memories. Here she didn't have to hunt down Van, or worry about Luke dying just yet...

Here, she could see Ion again.]

[Ion doesn't write anything in reply to that, but he just can't help but smile. He understands that conflicted feeling, although not in quite the same way. He used to feel so guilty whenever he was happy to see another one of his friends show up here, knowing what they might have to go through...]

[But really, if they were going to be here anyway, they might as well make the most of things. And if anything should happen, they'll just deal with those things as they occur.]

[...even if one of those things is the possibility of being sent "home" again.]
