Good for you, buying something FUN for yourself with your gift vouchers. It's what your friends would want--unless they told you to get something useful.

I always TRY to make sure to tell my friends specifically what I buy with thier gift certificate. (I don't always remember, but I try.) I hope to make them feel part of the process, so that it seems like more like a real gift, rather than just a plastic card or a piece of paper.

*g* The relatives that gave me this gift voucher probably don't care much what I bought, although I prefer to use gift vouchers on fun things for me that I'll enjoy rather than practical things or presents for other people. When buying gifts for others, it's the things they want but can't justify in their monthly budget that I want to give - the splurgy items that make them feel good rather than the new stockings and vegetable peelers that are completely practical and un-fun. Therefore that's what I try to spend vouchers that people give me on ( ... )
