Day trip fun

Today I decided to haul my aunt along on a bit of a road trip. It's quite horrifying to think about how long it's been since I went beyond the city limits - when did I become such a home bod ( Read more... )

but then someone walked past with a bowl of chilli and I made a last minute change. It was gorgeous, although my favourite bit may possibly have been the buttermilk biscuit that came with it because that was fabulous.

That makes my homemade beef in red wine stew sound a bit sick.

If you ever get up here to visit? This is a place that must be gone to. The chilli was fantastic but the buttermilk biscuit was amazing.

I need to get my stove fixed so that I can bake things :-)

I'm working on it, but it'll be next year before I can run off to Devon. ;-) It sounds bloody gorgeous. I'm the sort of person who's happiest with a bowl of stew/curry and a little bit of bread so the concept of chilli & biscuit is enough to make me go 'OOOOOOH!'

I'm looking at stoves. Can't really do anything about it until I've got the unit niche measured up though. Kitchen stuff = porn. :-D

I'm currently getting by with a toaster oven and the electric rings on my stove. The actual oven portion of my stove does not work.

Looking at amazing ovens is my guilty pleasure. When I get my own place, the two appliances that will suck up all my budget are a top-notch stove and a really good, front-loading washing machine.

Must call oven repair guy when I get home...

I miss baking!

Two of the TOS tie-ins that I absolutely *adored* beyond all reason were 'Three Minute Universe' and 'Ishmael'. I used to have the complete set, but had to get rid of them for reasons of space (ironic, huh? *g*). I kept those two though :-)

Heh :-D

I used to have a ton of TNG tie-ins, but got rid of them for the same reasons. I didn't feel any inclination to hold onto any of them, which is why I'm dipping my foot so tentatively into the well of TOS stuff. I shall be looking out for those two, though.
