There is a scene towards the end of Man in the Iron Mask (the newer one, not the Richard Chamberlain 70s version) where the Four Musketeers (and Phillipe) decide to make one final charge on the younger musketeers and the King Louis. The young musketeers fire everything they have at our heroes, shots go everywhere and the smoke from the muskets

Thank you. Even the pain and stiffness today (much worse than yesterday) are worth the feeling of triumph at actually doing it. I'm so glad we did it and I'm so glad that I did it with my Da. He's my hero :-)

Photos will hopefully be posted on Wednesday - it's the final week with my hated employer so everything is crazy. But the photos look great on my little Canon's screen :-)

Oh wow, I am SO impressed. That sounds incredibly scary and challenging. I am so glad for you that you conquered it!

Thank you! I still can't quite believe that I did it and I'm really glad that I did the whole thing. Possibly the biggest challenge I've ever set myself and I did it.

Wonderful, well done. Hard though it may have been, I think you're right about also having to do the descent making it a proper achievement.

Thank you. I have no idea how I would have felt if I'd taken the train down, but I suspect that the sense of achievement wouldn't be quite so great if I had. I tell myself that every time I have to move and a muscle (or twenty) screams in protest *g*
