Yes, but *clicky button*.

Guess you'll have to bring various stuff over on DVS so we can host the slash-olympics.

Sorry to hear that the car people are so shite.

Atlantis is just starting to edge out the ticky box in responses :-) It's a close run thing, though.

I've got an assignment writing marathon this weekend, but potentially the next weekend we could have a slash-olympics. That could be fun :-))

The car people are useless idiots who couldn't find their elbow with a map and compass. I'm embarrassed to work for the same company as them. Heck, I'm just embarrassed about the company that I work for, but their personal finance division definitely ain't helping.

Good luck with all the assignment-writing. I suspect I'll be tackling various gardening jobs if the rain holds off, but I don't half fancy a lie in for once. Next weekend is looking clear, though (so far, house viewings permitting), with the added advantage that 1) I'll need to let my hair down the day after my appraisal 2) It's a bank holiday weekend.

Fingers crossed that the insurance people get their fingers out.

Tx

The spouse is a huge S&H fan and he used to roll his eyes and insist "it's not slashy; they're just partners." Then one day he walked into the office where I was writing and said, "Fine, they were doing it," and walked out. Apparently by the final season not even he could deny it.

Yup, it's very slashy indeed. /g/

*snicker* Yep, that I can believe. I think watching the episode with the candle-lit meal was one of the few times where I've stared at the TV and gone "they seriously are totally doing it". Most shows, even lovely slashy Atlantis, it's largely in the interpretation. With S&H, it's proving hard to find interpretations where they're not doing it ;-)

Dude, you need S1 for The Fix. That episode might break your slash-o-meter. It broke mine. *holds up the remnants*

I'm currently working through S1 via Amazon rentals so I'm guaranteed to get The Fix reasonably soon :-)) I think that I caught that ep on Channel 5 a couple of years ago, and I recall it being rather...ah...intense. I shall make sure that my slash-o-meter goes nowhere near it because those things are so darned expensive to replace ;-)

Aren't you glad they are now your ex-insurers? I will avoid them like the plague when considering changing my insurer. At least you have found a way to get them to do what they're supposed to be doing.

I clearly need to add Starsky & Hutch to my amazon list. Once I've worked through the First Doctor episodes with Ian in, since he is clearly fantastic.

I am very glad they're my ex-insurers. Seriously, never ever buy insurance from these guys. They are absolutely terrible and the only way to get them to do their jobs is to listen to Vivaldi's Spring on loop many times while they put you on hold and do the things. If the say they'll do it after the phone call? Don't believe them.

And yes, S&H may be a necessity. It's a cop show and it's completely filled with slash. Fantastic :-) Are there many Ian episodes around that are actually complete?

Good point, why have I not seen it yet?

I just had a look on Wikipedia, and there's one story where all the episodes of it are missing, and another two stories with two episodes missing. Given he's in 16 episodes altogether, that's quite a good percentage of completes. It seems to be after that where there's lots missing.

I don't know - I would have thought it would be right up your alley.

That's pretty good going, actually. I was expecting that far more would have been missing from those really early ones. I know that Troughton suffered from the most deletions. Surprising how many Hartnell adventures survived. It always surprises me that the colour masters for several Pertwee adventures have gone - the BBC's reusing tape policy carried on for much longer than I would have assumed.
